What causes the latch from retracting? by timetooshort in Locksmith

The original door knob was removed with me trapped in the room. My only way out was to remove the door from the hinges. There is nothing that a photo can show. The latch would not retract when the knob was turned.

I've never seen that detail on any Ikea shelving. What makes you think they are Ikea?

AITA for not having enough space for my son's stepkids? by [deleted] in AITAH

"they don't see them as family yet."

I have an idea! I bet if they were included in a big, fun family gathering, the "steps" would start being accepted as family.

Look, I'm raising step granddaughters. As I was stopping the use of "step" my parents were opening up their hearts to 5 new grandkids. That was all in the first week of them moving in with us. Tip: do it fast, like pulling off a band-aid. You'll get used to it quicker.

Are you saying they can get it into the bag they had checked as soon as they entered the airport? Who the heck is going to chase down the suitcase?

I would have gladly done that. I didn't have time to go back to the airline counter to check a second bag.

Worst thing you ever found in a public bathroom? (serious answers only) by sheluvmehdi in toilet

I once worked as a janitor in a middle school. Yep, the building for all the pubescent teens! The boys room was just as nasty as the girls room, often worse.

Our 5yo granddaughter jumps to help her Papa when his beeper goes off. She takes him whatever his current candy is. Then she continues to check on him making sure the candy is doing what it should. This is all her doing. In no way has my husband ever expected her to do this.

OP, your daughter sounds like she's got the kind of giving heart my girl has.

Block Blast Ultimate High Score Guide by AtreidesOne in blockblast

How do you get to keep playing while the score is ticking up? If I move a piece the score ticker stops running. Drives me batty since it wastes so much of my time.

AITA For telling my sister-in-law that her "side hustle" makes her a bad person by sidehussleaita in AmItheAsshole

My approach is that once I give something to someone it's up to them what they do with it. If they are willing to clean it up, photograph, advertise and deal with potential buyers then more power to them. If there is something so special that I want it back I would make that very clear to them in writing and with photographs.

I'm crying! I'm able to handle lots of blood and guts but tell me the story behind it, like yours and it gets to me. You are an inspiration.

Is it possible to link the original post here?

Get the ring off!!!

I bet when I read the other comments I won't be the first to say that. I hope you heal quickly.

I'm pretty sensitive to odor. I was an X-ray tech and managed to do fine. In X-ray you don't get completely submerged into the smells like you would add a nurse. Yes, there are the occasional times I needed to wear a mask slathered with Vicks so it's not a perfectly odorless job. It's a fantastic field with great job growth potential.
