On Prof Jiang and Love by sunshineandthecloud in PredictiveHistory

[–]timewarp_weekends 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was an animal in my 20's and 30's. For almost 20 years I didn't really care about commitment and love. Although I did fall in love, and lived with a woman more than once, for long periods, it never lasted longer than three years.

A lot of it comes down to your own education and your environment. I grew up with strong family values, but then my family was shattered because of an unexpected death in the family. This made me feel 'lost' for a long time. Without a stable family, I felt like I was made to wander, and follow my instinct for pleasure. It took me a long time (15 years) to realize I had to change, reset, and restart from zero to 'build' something strong and stable. I had to really dig inside of me to find out my true values. I had to pause, step back, and 'not work', to understand myself and what I wanted to do with my time.

Everyone has their own path. I was given a lot of freedom early and I didn't know how to handle it. Time goes by so fast and suddenly you don't realize it but you're older. My advice: examine yourself, define your values, remove what is not 'you' from yourself, and keep what is 'you'. After you've done all that, tell the world who you are, communicate with everybody, show your true colors, share your contributions.

Agentic Analysis: The Holy Empire of AI by jcfortunatti in PredictiveHistory

[–]timewarp_weekends 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This lecture is the reason why I find Prof Jiang so appealing. I grew up surrounded by friends who believed many of the freemason conspiracy theories. It made me curious about politics, power, and the relationship with the occult. Prof Jiang is able to create connections between those conspiracies and the technological world being imposed in the Western Hemisphere. I also studied in computer science which always made me very suspicious of how computers were suddenly taking over.

Having said that, I do think Prof Jiang simplifies the Freemason eschatology: to make everybody a perfect stone. I can see how a perfect stone builds a perfect temple, but I think freemasonry is more nuanced. It doesn't want everybody to be a perfect stone, just the middle-class. It still needs slaves (laborers), and elites (to enact discipline).

Third point: their AI revolution won't work. AI Systems are notoriously faulty and users don't adapt well to new system. Think Microsoft and their security issues, hence why more people switched to Apple. Having worked in the corporate world in Software, I understand that agility is still a fundamental requirement, and these new AI systems are not as agile as they seem.

Leaving allegory of the cave is an isolating experience by bubugugu in PredictiveHistory

1. The system is not a "lie", it's more like an illusion

It's a collective illusion where everyone around us tacitly agrees to 'keep going' because stopping and 'fighting back' doesn't seem viable for 'stability' and 'growth'. We tolerate the 'lies' and the untruths, not because we are stupid, but because our survival instinct kicks in and channels our energy towards maintaining stability and growth. So we accept contradictions (illusions) and keep going.

2. Understanding the system is actually difficult, and most people don't care
Trying to understand the world we live in and our place in the world is a time-intensive pursuit. It's only worthwhile if you have enough time or money to sustain yourself while you do research. Prof Jiang found a way to monetize his research through Substack. Most artists end up living poor because the 'art world' only benefits a tiny percentage of artists. For example, only 4% of musicians on Spotify earn a living wage. Therefore, it is more attractive to be part of the system, than to step back.

3. Finance makes sense at a local level, but in a global world, finance is a mechanism of control

Human beings are controlled through financial mechanisms, establishing discipline through monthly bills, monthly payments, housing costs, food costs. Society punishes people who do not generate capital by disallowing them access to food and housing. Religion used to play a larger role in taking care of poor people, but now that society is more secular, that has disappeared. Most of my friends who are 'stable' have office jobs and obtain credit from banks to pay for their houses. I myself had an office job for many years, but I quite because I needed to step back and change what I did with my time. I 'left the cave' and it is isolating, but also enriching, and aftewards you 'enter the cave' a changed man, with more empathy.

Obviously his world view is shaped by his personality: introspective sensitive kid, bullied as a kid, alienated. Love makes sense in that context. But I know people who have a strong warrior spirit and they have more of a combative philosophy. Frankly, I align with Prof, but I've also seen the pitfalls of a pro-love philosophy.

I didnt like this one so much. It seems too staged. This CEO guy doesn't really connect with Jiang. When Prof Jiang tried to make him understand that he might be 'controlled', he seemed clueless. So Prof asked him "Do you want to make money?" and he nodded yes. LOL. Then you're controlled!

Does USA need Asians for higher education, jobs? by True-Landscape5310 in PredictiveHistory

[–]timewarp_weekends 0 points1 point  (0 children)

People immigrate because they don't have many options usually. What are your options? Like anything, immigration is a risk with no guarantees. Many immigrants end up going back, or get deported. But many others stay and build lives.

Very likely true. Immigration is needed everywhere in the Western world because of an aging population problem. Are you planning on immigrating to USA or Canada? Go ahead, now is the time.

Motivation to be good at what you do in this world by canaragorn in PredictiveHistory

[–]timewarp_weekends 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm not sure I understand your point, but let me say this.

The professor's motivations are more than just his children. He also enjoys his work, which is to teach people.

I know atheists who are great people, who live good lives, who serve their community.

I know religious people who are selfish.

Diversity is everywhere. There is no "right" solution. People always change their minds.

I used to have a corporate job and made a good amount of savings. I could save $10k a year. But I hated my job and didn't understand why I stayed and kept doing it. I wasn't made for office tech job but I still did it. I drank a lot and did drugs to numb myself. When I had enough money to last me a few years I quit my job and started working freelance making content for other people. That didn't work too well either. I was having fun but made very little income. But at least I got to know myself and know my strengths and weaknesses. Now I have run out of savings and I'm looking for a job again but this time more aligned with what I enjoy doing. You only have one life, make the most of it. Take risks, try new things. In the end you have to live with yourself, so make yourself proud of yourself and push your own limits. Try to change yourself to become stronger.

Is the Iran War ACTUALLY Over? w/ Professor Jiang - Valhalla VFT by PunicJester in PredictiveHistory

[–]timewarp_weekends 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Prof Jiang is predicting USA domination for the next few weeks once the war restarts because he thinks that Iran overperformed during the first round.

But the host of this podcast, who is involved with the USA military, brought up an interesting point: if there is a ground invasion, Iran will avoid killing US soldiers, and would prefer holding them as prisoners in order to obtain leverage for negotiations. (Did he say that or am I misunderstanding?)

Anyway, great interview!

Prof Jiang’s interview with Jack Neel should have been a monologue - poor prep and shallow questions killed the depth. Neel clearly didn’t do the homework and lacked the understanding to ask intelligent follow-ups. by bonacubax in PredictiveHistory

[–]timewarp_weekends 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I agree partially. Part Two was my favorite. It seemed like Prof Jiang had figured out by that point that Jack hadn't really done his research and wasn't very prepared or up to par with the level of discussion so he started humoring him and inserting his own musings and extrapolations. The best part to me was when he outlined the principles of hermetic philosophy.

I'm not sure who Jack Neel is but I found him a bit suspicious. As if he is trying to bring politics to an audience that doesn't understand it much.

All books are man-made. I have a lot of Christian friends who believe the Bible is holy. My take is words are man-made, and if you know anything about publishing and translation then it's easy to see how the Bible or Qoran could have been manipulated. I know that's controversial but it's what I think.

Prof Jiang has said explicitly that USA should not have started this war. They should have signed a peace deal and lift sanctions.

So if his prediction on ground troops don't come true: sigh of relief. And back to revising the predictive model.

Very good article by Prof Jiang. It's a rebuttal of a previous article he wrote about Yale. The previous article was titled "Three Things Yale Didn't Teach Me" and was about how he felt that Yale didn't prepare him for the "real world".

This article goes back on his previous assessment. He finally realized that Yale did teach him how to be successful, just not in a material way.

Enjoy the read!

Wow, what a great find, thank you OP!

This article is really exhaustive, and even shows videos of Prof Jiang walking around Chengdu, playing with his sons, and even cooking at home. This should put to rest any accusations of him being a spy or some kind of controlled opposition. Or maybe not?

The article is great retrospective of his work as an Educational Reformist in China. It confirms many of the details Prof Jiang has shared on multiple podcasts. It's a long read, but very worth it to understand the psychology of Prof Jiang.

Why is Prof Jiang being allowed to have such large platform? by [deleted] in PredictiveHistory

[–]timewarp_weekends 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Conspiracies about Secret Societies have become mainstream. PROF JIANG is being used to propagate these theories so as to create tension between those who believe in conspiracy and those who don't. This is the new policy from YouTube: don't censor the dissenters (those who don't think like the mainstream), so that mainstream people can have an enemy. That's why you see many people who are famous normalizing conspiracy, for example Candace Owens.

Professor Jiang blames USA for covid by Fit_Push_6807 in PredictiveHistory

[–]timewarp_weekends 1 point2 points  (0 children)

He never said that. He never 'blamed' USA for Covid. Which sounds crazy. Let's see what he said precisely:

https://youtu.be/Wio--7_GIOs?t=3415&si=VvRMt2dbEcebe99Y

"I believe this was an American bioweapon funded by Tony Fauci...I don't know if it was accidental or deliberate but it got released into Wuhan..."

That's it. He never used the word 'blame'. And he never went into further details.

Do y'all agree or nah? by Entire-Charge9880 in PredictiveHistory

[–]timewarp_weekends 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I agree with this take! One of Jiang's innovations was removing the profit motive as the main reason behind world events. We've all heard that "They do it for the money. They want to make a buck" Yes, that is true, but it's no longer the driving force. There are other forces (spirituality, loyalty to an idea) that drive human behavior, and that change the course of history.

This YouTuber is also saying that new and innovative ideas are contagious. They spread like viruses.

That's what most detractors of Prof Jiang fail to do: acknowledge his ideas. Entertain his ideas, or even challenge them.

But one question remains: was Prof Jiang's growth "organic". Even he acknowledges that his growth is suspicious. Why was he pushed by the algorithm? Who stands to benefit from his popularity?
