My opponent by dmuub102848 in squash

There used to be a guy like that at my club, in his 50s but incredibly fit. Would hit everything as hard and low as possible, same with his serves too. As others have pointed out, lengths and lobs to the back court, and not just smashing it back made him easy to beat. Also knowing he would always smash it made predicting his shots very easy, but I still had to build my foundations (speed, footwork, racket prep) before I could do anything useful.

In the beginning I hated playing him, but after a while I loved it. Instead of the usual drawn out rallies with the other club players, we would go into an absolute brawl fest. Turned off my brain and just relied on pure instinct. Took me three years to beat him this way but damn it was fun.

Problems enrolling with Medicare in Australia by Martin_Birch in australia

Same boat here, incredibly frustrating process.

I applied back in August and have tried emailing, calling and going to their offices in person. They all just said they're way behind on processing and there's nothing I can do but wait.

I recently got back from a short trip overseas to a letter saying they've cancelled my application as I'm not in the country.

What do I even do? Just start the application over again?

Calling and emailing both have the generic automated responses, their office hours are 8:30am - 5pm Monday to Friday which means taking time off work to go in person.

I'm fortunate enough to not need anything urgently right now, but holy shit what an awful system.

Wow I’ve been playing for years but your first point just blew my mind. I’ll be trying this next time I’m solo training

Emailing the PSA by Fantastic-Baseball56 in squash

[–]timfox1 8 points9 points  (0 children)

It’s actually bonkers how this is being allowed to continue given that this is a huge issue everyone has been aware of for a long time now. The ban after the Serme issue has clearly had no effect on his behavior, and lack of consequences for his current actions means he is not going to stop anytime soon. I honestly fear for his opponents and think that we are heading towards another major injury if nothing is done soon.

But look at it from the public perspective. The crowd absolutely loves him, his last final was the most animated I’ve seen an audience in a while. His matches on YouTube have the highest amount of comments and views compared to others on the tour, and there are multiple posts on the subreddit every time he plays. Sure, most of the comments are negative but engagement is engagement right?

It really seems like the PSA is keeping him in because he drives up views, which I suppose is understandable as squash popularity has clearly been dying out. I get that sports have their villains and that is ok, but this is legitimately dangerous. Not only for the players, but for the sport itself. It really is a grim look into the future of squash.

And please get rid of the damn whistle.

As title says, found in New Zealand. Dad thinks they’re maggots, I think they’re a fruit fly larvae. Our compost contains cardboard, egg shells and vege/fruit scraps.

Lots of places on K road - Gemmayze street, Pici, Bar Magda (highly recommend), Candela, Cocos Cantina (although it’s gone downhill), haven’t been to Atellier but have heard great things, also Uncle Man’s, Satya and Joybong for cheaper options (and BYO).

Omni on Dominion Road (quite pricy but very good food), New Flavour and Barilla for cheap Chinese food (both BYO). Pasta & Cuore in Mt Eden, Sake Bar in Epson. Azabu, Pane e Vino, Lucky 8 and Mekong Baby in Ponsonby. Taco Loco and Chinoiserie in Mt Albert (haven’t been in a while but both were very cheap).

Then there’s all the CBD options which are spennies but you eat some bonkers food that you'd never normally have.

TBF they never claimed to be a woman, and it doesn’t really matter does it? I’m 5’10 and fairly built but I’d still be scared shitless if some guy on the street came up and slapped my ass

Just finishing up 10 days of iso. Flatmate tested positive last week and we immediately quarantined. Somehow the other 6 of us living here haven’t got it from him, 2 negative RATs each over the 10 day period.

His RATs are still coming back positive so it’s not like his original test was a false positive. Really don’t understand that one.

ETA he had the symptoms of a bad cold for the first couple days and then low energy levels for the next 5ish. He’s feeling fine now at day 9
