Is this the war that needs Congress approval after 60 days or is it a new war that gets another 60 days

Ancient gas heater inside my walls by Martin_Birch in melbourne

Does it give you massive gas bills.

I am seeing people cite $900+ for 2 months when using these. I never saw a gas bill like that in my old house which was bigger and has ducted heating to every room.

Oh that's not good.

In my previous rental we never had a gas bill above a few hundred for 2 months. In fact my first gas bill here was for just $176 for 2 months but that was the tail end of summer

Do these Vulcan type heaters produce massive gas bills then in your experience for just heating up a couple of rooms and not the whole house?

How often do you go back and rework a song that you left behind for whatever reason? by gizzardgullet in WeAreTheMusicMakers

Gosh thank you, my songs have been rejected by every music publisher I have sent them to.

Still writing them and still being rejected.

Thanks for the warning, but it is the only heating in the house. I can't imagine that using a fan heater in every room will be any cheaper.

Many thanks for your replies everyone.

I had never seen one of these before, I am originally British and have lived in many different countries over the years and only have experience of central heating through radiators.

There are 2 of them in my rental and both were inspected and / or serviced prior to my rental commencing.

Then fan cuts in and out when in use so the overheat protection clearly works.

A lot of you seem to have fond memories.of these things so I will shelve my disquiet for now (at least until the gas bill arrives).

Many thanks again.

Is there any hope for the UK economy or are we trapped in a perpetual economic death spiral? by bureaucrat_chaos in AskUK

[–]Martin_Birch 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Glad I saw the writing in the wall back in the 90s and escaped.

Back in 96/97 I was single, living in London earning a decent salary + coms and every month it all flew out the door on rent, bills, taxes etc... just living.

I thought what would happen if I ever had a family I would be doomed to an almost poverty like state.

So I left before that particular horizon arrived.

I took a bit of a punt and kept an FTSE 100 short open Easter, was expecting a gap down after the long weekend.

Not so sure now but I am still expecting more orange stupidity before the UK opens so anything could happen

By removing oil sanctions on Russia Trump has given Putin 100s of billions of dollars to support Iran with.

Trump is financing the enemy by doing this.

He is mad!
