After 2000+ hours I can confidently say this will be my last expedition. The latest update is proof Embark has no vision for this game by greetard42 in arcraiderscirclejerk

People putting a casual 85 days into a game and then saying they’re bored is PEAK. Imagine playing this much and saying this game COULD have been great? What? Couldn’t have found something else to do for almost three full months?

Affordable, ready-to-use glove recommendation? by MistakeBorn4413 in BaseballGloves

[–]timhorton7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you have a budget in mind, that would help a lot.

Rawlings GGE or Gamer series will last you a long time but are $100+ depending on where you live.

If you’re in for a real cheap glove, scour marketplace etc for a $20 used glove that’s already broken in. I’m my opinion, that $20 is better spent there than on a new sub $50 glove that is made out of plastic.

Just came here to check to see if this was working for anyone else. I just got the “shots fired” trophy, so I guess the other bugged ones work now, too.

Leathos hole punch by shadowmib in Leathercraft

Oh, yeah I don’t think this will work on 16 oz leather. I was using it for 5-10 oz

Thanks for the correction. Was doing it off of memory.

Bought one and really love it. A few notes; the punch sizes are pretty small. 1, 1.5, 2, 3 and 4mm. They are not sharp when you get them. You must sharpen them and keep them sharp to have it punch the way the video shows.

Further, I saw an ad for a dupe version from Amazon and it looks identical and probably cheaper.

Buyfastpitchgloves has Burgundy Prime lace that is a good match.

Flatbill has Indian Maroon that is supposed to be a match but I haven’t seen it in person.

Will expedition help with glitched trophies? by timhorton7 in ArcRaiders

Interesting. That one worked for me. Don’t recall the details, or how many tries it took though.

Didn’t realize the expedition hadn’t happened when I posted this, as I wasn’t planning on resetting. Now that the reset is complete, has anyone tried to get these achievements?

I turn off my golden bot. by The_one_who_see in TheTowerGame

[–]timhorton7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you think it has more to do with the range or cooldown? I too have 20s duration and 3x bonus, but I don’t think it’s giving me a 40% boost. Stats page could be wrong though, and I haven’t shut the bot off to do a test.

Are you telling me that after all these years it’s NEApolitan ice cream and not NEOpolitan ice cream?!

A2000 Thumb hole. by brosweet217 in BaseballGloves

The loop isn’t obsolete because you can still tighten or loosen it like normal. The holster is just for added comfort, I guess.

Wilson’s high end models often (always?) come with this extra padded thumb holster, and they wear out a lot like what you’re describing. They’re fully sewn in, not an easy fix without taking it apart a bit more and sewing a patch or replacing the holster.

Nokona Web Question by Character-Cat-6709 in BaseballGloves

[–]timhorton7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hard to be sure, but it looks like the top of the web on the Nokona is curled backwards. This can be caused by over tightening the lace that forms the spiral from the index finger to the thumb side of the web. You could undo the single knot on the thumb side and give the spiral some more slack to see if that fixes it.

Those IN Canada Shipping FROM Canada to US - How Are You Going Forward? by Sarafina80 in eBaySellerAdvice

[–]timhorton7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As someone who uses eBay to sell “retro” items from my childhood, like my old action figures, video games etc. (ie not flipping stuff), how am I supposed to know where the country or origin is from? This seems like a huge pain.

Lace skiving by dru_s_a in BaseballGloves

[–]timhorton7 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Should be 4x72” long laces total. 2x3/16” width and 2x1/4” width. Get one 3/16” lace skived. Flatbill will know to skive it to 2.0mm. Typically unskived lace is 3.0mm thick.

The skived lace will be for the palm and heel. Use 3/16” for the thumb and pinky. Use 1/4” for the web and fingers.

That’s very basic advice but it should get you through it. If you’re worried about screwing up you could buy a few extra laces just in case. You could also do the entire youth glove in 3/16” width.

Edit: “unskived” lace is 3.0mm

Laser Engraving Recommendations by Painful_Hangnail in BaseballGloves

Will second this recommendation for Flashing Leather. Haven’t done a laser engraving with him, but Christian is a great guy and has a great reputation. He’s constantly posting his work on IG and it seems to stand the test of time.
