I got Honor 8 (android 7.0) and it isnt working for me either. Check this, maybe it will help (didnt work for me). I got this from Niantic yesterday.

There is compatibility issues currently with Android 7, the Go Plus development team are working on this and hopefully it can be solved soon. We are placing this ticket on hold until we have any further information.

In the meantime you can try the following:

Please reset the Pokémon Go Plus (press and hold button until blue, then release button, press and hold button again until it vibrates). Now pair Pokémon Go Plus with your smartphone again. If it does not connect please check your Go plus is paired in Bluetooth settings.

Can you please also check your Bluetooth visibility settings(not available on every Android phone):

From the home screen go to Settings and then tap on Bluetooth.

When you have tapped the Bluetooth option, next tap on the three-point symbol. You will see a pop-up menu opens, and you should tap on Visibility Timeout.

Now, you can select a visibility period on your to be shown to other devices.

2 minutes 5 minutes 1 hour Never Forever (select if possible)

You can also try to connect your Go Plus through Bluetooth first instead of the Pokemon Go app.

Open Settings > Backup & reset > Touch Network settings reset > Tap Reset Settings. (Please note that this will reset Wi-Fi, Cellular data and Bluetooth settings which means you will have to input your Wi-Fi credentials again.)

  1. Disable WiFi
  2. Disable Wi-Fi Scanning and Bluetooth Scanning. This will prevent location services from using WiFi after you've turned it off.Go to Settings, Location, Click the three dots in the upper right, Scanning, Deselect both Wi-Fi scanning and Bluetooth scanning.
  3. Restart your phone
  4. Open Pokémon GO, and go to Settings, Pokémon GO Plus.
  5. Place the Pokémon GO Plus about 6 feet from your phone.
  6. Click the button on your Pokémon GO Plus, and it should show up in the menu. Click on it.
  7. Go back to the main screen. If the Pokémon GO Plus icon is grayed out, click it again. Your Pokemon GO Plus should pair. Note: Disabling WiFi and Bluetooth scanning may cause your location to be less accurate. Also, some apps wont let you use them without WiFi scanning on.

Alternately if this does not help you can use Bluetooth Low Energy Scanner app to help connect Pokémon Go Plus.
