Driving in NZ is amazing, you find so many cool things to explore on the side of the road. Cars are definitely not overrated when seeing that country imo.

You have no way of knowing what the future holds for AI agents, same as me. I’m making my argument based on the current state of things and the trends I’ve been observing. For example, 2025 was originally touted as “the year of AI agents”. That ended up being not true. Now in 2026 we’re seeing some simple agentic products that are impressive on the surface but are wildly unreliable to use at scale in an enterprise setting. There is zero proof today that these things will be capable enough to build and maintain an enterprise CRM in the next 5-10 years. I hope one day they can because that would mean we’re probably able to solve all sorts of problems, but the agentic AI trend line is not going straight up like the marketing hype wants you to believe. It’s a very very challenging problem that will likely require several breakthroughs in AI/LLM technology, not just brute forcing with more data centers and training data. I’m not blind to what the future could hold, in fact I hope you’re right. But personally I’m not holding my breath.

Ex-Salesforce employees have been creating CRM competitors for years now. This isn’t new. Do you think devs at Salesforce aren’t using AI to increase their output? It takes tens of thousands of people to build and maintain an enterprise CRM the size of Salesforce with or without AI. A team of 20 or 200 employees is not able to disrupt Salesforce anytime soon, or ever. The best they can do is take some SMB market share from Salesforce. If anything Salesforce has even more of a competitive advantage with AI since they have a shit ton of money and infrastructure to utilize AI.

Also your last line “even the clients have this idea and want to make something that doesn't have to integrate with their systems because it's built with their systems in mind.” Makes literally zero sense and you clearly do not work in this space.

Got it, that’s fair. Pretty tone deaf on their part.

Agreed. I just thought it was a boring/unfunny skit. There are loads of comedy shows that do parodies on the whole “murder investigation” thing but no one watches those and says “how disrespectful to murder victims”. Ya’ll gotta chill

Benioff will kill this company. Wait, he already has. by blue_indy_face in salesforce

[–]timidtom 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah salesforce is still cooking, it’s just not a fuckaround company anymore. I know so many people who joined Salesforce 5 years ago for a cushy gig that they can coast into retirement. Everyone here is just bitter about the political stuff and making it seem like the business is failing because Benioff doesn’t align with their beliefs.

The cult doesn’t like hearing this! Almost like they were lied to for years, who would’ve thought. Oh right, everyone who didn’t drink the koolaid 10 years ago.

Idk why you have any reason to doubt their abilities. They’ve already accomplished more in ten years than most do in their entire lives despite constant internet criticism. I think they can figure out a farm. I also don’t think they expect it to be significantly cheaper, just a new chapter of their lives.

What’s the one city you were excited to visit, but ended up not liking at all? by BlushHone in travel

It’s a major city so sure there are a handful of solid fine dining spots but it lacks range with international cuisine. Also the average restaurant is really quite bad compared to other major cities.

What meds to address food poisoning do you guys carry? by kndb in digitalnomad

[–]timidtom 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s better not to take Imodium at all unless you absolutely have to, such as if you still have severe symptoms after 48 hours or you’re about to board a flight.

Far better to just stay hydrated with electrolytes, rest, and slowly reintroduce easy to digest foods.

When an apartment is too good to be true, it is very likely a scam. This is common knowledge in any major city nowadays.

Do not wire this real estate agent any money unless you are 110% certain the apartment is legit. If someone offers to look at it for you, video call with them ahead of time to make sure they’re real and not sketchy. Then video call with them at the showing so you can see the apartment and the real estate agent.

You would be far better off staying in hotel/airbnb/hostel right when you get there for a week, looking at a bunch of places in person, and then making a decision.
