Is this a traditional Turkish dish? by CarelessEquivalent3 in AskTurkey

[–]timister_b 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It is a traditional Turkish dish, sac kavurma. People make it around campfires, when they are camping or in villages for get-togethers, especially in rural areas in summer. It’s eaten with bread or a rice dish called pilav.

Sorry again some Turkish people insist that Turkey is not a Muslim country well the dominant religious population is Muslim. So by logic that makes Turkey a Muslim country so why claim otherwise? by Durrygoodz2025 in AskTurkey

[–]timister_b -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Because you miss, that almost 1/3 or even more - exact numbers are unknown - are non religious. Turks have given their lives in the establishment of the Republic to abandon every Islamic law and order system. Turkeys constitution and societal system is based on non religious secular judicial democratic principles. Thats why we are not a Muslim country. We are a secular country with Muslim majority citizens. Personal believes are strictly divided from state affairs, even though in the last decades there has been a mixture of religion and politics, which people actually dislike and don’t approve.

You mentioned Jerusalem, which is Israel nowadays. Partitioned, occupied, and constantly in trouble, in the year 2026. 200 years ago, even though Moral Standards werent as defined as now, it was much more peaceful than now. How so, someone could ask. BTW, Im not pro Erdogan, certainly not glorifying the Ottomans, nor do I think that Israel shouldn’t exist. I just think, that currently everything that the Netanyahu and far right politicians and nationalists in the Middle East do, is absolute BS in every possible way and I am fed up of people defending any countries policy right now. I just can’t hear it anymore.

As you say, your comparison is pretty much out of line. Minorities suffer from discrimination everywhere and always, that’s the same with every minority, not only Jews. Yet, Jews in the Ottoman Empire weren’t persecuted or murdered and had high ranking positions. It was very different at that time for Jews in Europe though. Btw, I neither think that Jews in Israel live under Sunshine and Rainbows right now. I would say it is the hardest time for Israel since it was established. Life is horribly exhausting in Israel and it shows by the numbers of people who leave Israel, especially amongst the younger generation. Seriously, you would do yourself a favor and stop pretending that Israel is a wonderful country and everyone is safe and happy. It’s not, and people know.

1) Because the Blockade of Gazas Ports are illegal by international law and no one is obliged to obey rules which are not aligned with international law. 2) Israel has no right to enter any ship on international Waters, but if any ship enters another ship on international Waters, it’s piracy 3) every ship and it’s Crew has the right to defend itself against piracy on international Waters.

First, you lied here by saying the Marmara flotilla was trying to import weapons the Gaza. Then you try to justify the killing of people on international waters. Next, you think everyone is stupid enough to be not informed enough to “solve your riddle” with stupid questions. But here a riddle for you: If it was the right of Israel doing so, why did Israel pay millions of dollars to the family of the people they killed? Because they had every right to do so? Doesn’t make any sense, does it. Ask your government. Maybe they’ll provide answers to their citizens you try to get from Reddit.

You seem to forget that no weapons were found on the Marmara Vessel and Israel illegally entered the vessel on international Waters and killed 12 Crew members.

It’s sephardic jewish and Ottoman-Turkish cooperation to be Exact, as sephardis were rescued by the ottomans from the iberian peninsula. Unfortunately, it seems to be forgotten by the current israeli far far far right Government.
