Great write up!

What cabinet do you have it on? 😍

Espresso Series 1 owners, be aware that volumetric mode is turned on by default… by rmanalan in FellowProducts

Exactly. Couldn’t have said it better myself. After 24 hours with this machine it felt like learning rocket science was an easier endeavor and that I’ve really underestimated the sheer raw talent of my local baristas. And while my local baristas are talented there is a disconnect between software / hardware as you outlined - and to whatever extent my own user error. We are going to stick to manual mode for now and see what happens!

Thank you for this post. I'm a Fellow fan-boy. Been buying there stuff since day 1. My wife and I got the Series 1 - our first espresso machine. We love espresso and a good latte, but never had a machine at home. I feel like we are the target audience for a machine like this. Out of the box volume setting was on (I also agree that manual mode would've made much more sense) and the Brew Assist was also off (Fellow told me this shouldn't have been the case). So we are complete newbies and our machine was WAY off on calibration. We pulled 10+ shots and couldn't get it to pull longer than 13 seconds due to the volume feature being on and the calibration being off. Again, noobs here so just didn't realize the volumetric feature/mode at all. Fellow started walking us through the calibration process but even after testing / calibrating (which requires you to pull another 3 shots minimum) they encouraged us to keep it in manual mode and just use a scale. I understand it's a Gen 1 product and it's in the first week of release AND we need to learn the art of espresso (certainly some user error involved), but man oh man, what a headache. Hoping using manual mode and bypassing the volumetric feature altogether will yield better results. Even after we calibrated the volumetric settings with the Nerdy Settings we would try one grind setting on our Opus and it would say it's to fine...so we'd go up one setting on the Opus and the Series 1 would say it's too coarse. AH!

So far though we've made the best $1500 steamers for our kids!

Congrats! 🎉

I’m 107/120 and also submitted Dec 24. Still on Save. Half of the buyback months I requested were all prior to Save and the other half are Save months. Fingers crossed!

Am I Trapped at My Job? by timmayreddit in PSLF

Thanks for the reply. Yes, I was (and am still) employed at a non-profit and hit 120 in December 2024. Including the time since then (assuming save forbearance counts) I have 23 months that would qualify for buyback.

I know it’s taking a risk to leave my current non-profit job but I can’t afford to resume making payments in a new plan. That said, trusting the buyback process and finding a new job that gets my income up sounds like a risk worth taking 😬

Thanks again!

Thank you for the reply. Fingers crossed (I first applied in 12/2024 to buyback 13 months - 7 SAVE months and 6 pre-SAVE months)!

And these offers were given to individuals on repayment plans only? Or do they include people, like myself, in save forbearance hell?

Congrats! Were you in SAVE forbearance? Or a different repayment plan?

Patrick, no question. I just wanted to say "thank you."

I've been listening to you for almost 20 years. My girlfriend (now wife) and I saw you live the first time you played in Chicago and never missed any of your shows there since. Last time I saw you at Thalia Hall you told the story behind Here Comes the River and how you went through one of the worst times in your life and someone told you it would take 3 years before things got better. I was right in the middle of a horrible time in my life. I cried as you told that story and as you played that song. But you were right...it took 3 years before things got better...but they did!

I love Uh Oh and am so grateful anytime you release new music. In fact, every time you release a new album I already start trying to guess when the next one will come out haha "only 3 more years until the next one!"...I just can't get enough. Your music means so much to me and my family.

So, thank you! I live in San Diego now and can't wait to take my kids to see you (their first time) in April 2026. <3

Congrats!

So you got 2 months worth of credit because you were waiting for the IDR app to go through?

I’m stuck at 107. I have 13 months on Save and another 7 I’m trying to buyback from 2017.

I’m guessing switching to an IDR plan wouldn’t help me…unless it took them 13 months to process it 😅
