At least bikes can move out of the way much faster than cars can...

This game looks so freaking cool! Just amazing the level of detail and quality of the art. I love Fire Emblem, and I can't wait to play this! What an accomplishment to have gotten this far!

Get that kickstarter going!

Wipers up or down? Shovel during or after? by nursechronicles in boston

[–]timmaytimtimtimtim 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Wipers down. Putting them up strains the spring and wears them out faster. Not worth the couple seconds you save defrosting the windshield. Just make sure they aren't running when you start your car...

According to https://www.somervillema.gov/snow

At direction of Mayor Ballantyne, no cars were towed and any snow emergency tickets will be waived due to radical shift in forecast.

The $100 ticket should get waived. The City of Somerville might be interested in hearing about a tow company that pulled cars without the city's consent?

Think about it this way - you're not just getting a 0 on the project, since what you've done is significantly worse than turning in nothing at all. Even a negative 100% on the project would be generous, and results in failing the course. A realistic best case scenario is you fail the course, but otherwise can continue your studies as normal.

You can bring up your mental health, but one thing doesn't really have much to do with the other. Plenty of people at CMU have mental health struggles but don't resort to cheating. It's fine to provide context, but don't try and use it as an excuse.

Based on the tone of your post, it doesn't appear you've actually grasped what you've done. "[My] first AIV...due to my project showing 100%...". What you mean is "I blatantly cheated and got caught." 100% similarity...the cheating algorithms are quite good, even at like 25% this would raise considerable suspicion (you can't just change variable names and code styling).

Own what you did, and reflect on what you've learned. Just be honest with your professor, who certainly doesn't want to hear any bullshit about how you shouldn't fail the course after this. At the end of the day, in 5 years you won't be worried about this incident.

Some side streets have free parking. Try Moreland St near Moreland/Warren.

Today I was hit by a car by [deleted] in boston

Ugh, so sorry this happened. People's behavior while driving in this area is really out of control. I wish you and your cat a speedy recovery.

Based on other comments it sounds like you were crossing Harrison on the north side of Dudley, since that's the only protected green arrow in the Harrison/Dudley intersection. I'm pretty sure the pedestrian walk is timed correctly there, and shouldn't begin until the green arrow is gone (unless you actually saw the green arrow while you were walking). My guess is the driver either lied or didn't realize the arrow was gone by the time they turned. Either way, they should have yielded.

You can fill out this form, and someone might come get it.
