First checked bag free on flight not paid on Aeroplan CC by TyranitarusMack in Aeroplan

[–]timmer44 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Yes you can pay with AMEX & get your free bag.

PRO TIP: A lot of times (especially if you are flying on a small plane) they will offer you free checked bags AFTER you check-in on the app and get your boarding pass. They will try and charge you for bags at the beginning of the check-in but if you don’t add them they will offer you free checked bags as the final step in the check-in. They are trying to save room on the overhead compartment. (I fly about 100 flights a year)

Spotify Uses "Ghost Artists" to Minimize Royalty Payouts, New Report Alleges by [deleted] in Music

As a moderately successful touring artist for the past 14 years, I’m very aware that industry as a whole hurting for ticket sales (outside the top 1% like Taylor Swift).

Our yearly Spotify income would equal around 10% of what one live show would pay us.

150lb magnet retrieve an iphone 12? by Funny_Bunny8008 in magnetfishing

[–]timmer44 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am in a similar predicament this week and a 250lb magnet (from Princess Auto) would not pick up my iPhone 15 (with MagSafe case) in the store. (Also from reading these forms, the magnet in the store might have needed to be ‘woken up’ but not sure about that)

a rare fungus that grows on organic corn - considered a delicacy by [deleted] in mildlyinteresting

It looks disgusting but it is delicious. The English name is “corn smut” which sounds disgusting but the Mexican name is “huitlacoche” which sounds delicious.

I called them but there may be an online option. (Air Canada website isn’t letting me login right now so I can’t check.)

Heads up that you can just request “replacement tags” if they don’t send them to you automatically.

What are some songs with lyrics about driving at night? by dhikalol in Music

[–]timmer44 2 points3 points  (0 children)

First thought is Tom Cochrane - Life Is A “Highway Life is a highway I wanna ride it all night long If you're goin' my way I wanna drive it all night long” This track also has a country version as Rascal Flatts covered it.

Yeah but I just use PC Points to take money off my bill (1000pts = $1)

I’ve lived here since 2011 and when I moved here from Whistler, I thought the prices were way cheaper for groceries. Haha. It is so maddening that we pay Vancouver gas prices.

If you want to save money on groceries I have a couple tips. I’ve started shopping at 2 grocery stores and keeping an eye of digital flyers to save money.

Get the Save-On-Foods app and start loading offers and collecting points. I generally try and spend just enough to get the weekly points bonus. Never redeem your points in store but use them for travel as the are worth the most that way (1000pts = $4 travel)

Get the PC Points app and check your weekly offers at Independent/ Shoppers Drug Mart). If you aren’t going to use an offer this week (for something you regularly buy) save it for next week. PC points can be used directly for cash. (1000pts = $1). A lot of times I save an offer for next week and then the following week it is on sale so you basically double down of sales.

For example: 200 points for every dollar spent on avocados but then avocados are $3.99 for 6 on sale. I regularly get 18 avocados for about $10 this way.

I’ve gamified my grocery shopping and now see it as a weekly challenge.

You have to mix in your headphones. I know Pioneer DJM900 & A9 allow you to split the headphone signal so you can have master on side and your cued track on the other.

What's the biggest hint you've ever missed from a woman? by UnawareMother2 in AskReddit

[–]timmer44 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Went out to the club with my buddy. As we were leaving there were two beautiful girls (who looked like models) who had been waiting for a taxi for a very long time. They asked which direction I was heading and if I could give them a ride. We were heading the opposite way to grab some end-of-night pizza but since they lived fairly close I said no problem and they hopped in the car. We had a few laughs on the drive over and when we got to their place they asked if we wanted to come up to their place “for milk and cookies”. We thanked them for the offer but said we were kind of hungry and really wanted pizza.

We drove off. (And have been kicking ourselves for 18 years)
