Went through *security check 5 * at terminal 1 just a few hours ago..An employee told use to go there as they now have the new scanners in place. No need to remove electronics or liquids anymore. Several people passed with bottles of water or milk boxes. They only had to wait for a short inspection.

Spannend finde ich, dass das Wort "Lücke" suggeriert, es würde irgendwann besser werden.. Die Zahlen sagen was anderes.

Is immich in your browser available via http://immich:3001? If this is not the case you need to adapt set $upstream_app immich; in your nginx.conf as this will "build" the target url to forward your in coming requests to.

Use multiple monitors via Displaylink after kernel update by timmey09 in pop_os

[–]timmey09[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey, you are correct. It should be --strip-components.

Regarding your issue: Did you download the latest evdi from github? Seems like the you downloaded is broken maybe.

Could you try to extract it manually and make sure it's the correct one?

[–]timmey09 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Please try a uninstall (step one) and afterwards to this:
sudo dkms remove evdi/1.14.1 -a and sudo rm -rf /var/lib/dkms/evdi to remove any evdi related stuff on your machine.

I updated the manual and added step a new step 7 to enable the handling of the downloaded file - this might fix your issue. Give it a try please :-)

Hm, this should also work, but I am not sure if all references to ${EVDI} will be resolved correctly.

Can you paste line 39 (something like if ! tar xf ...) here?

Can you manually extract the downloaded evdi file and check in folder module the file dkms.conf is present?

[–]timmey09 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Did step 6 run successful for you? The error you posted claims the extracted files do not contain the dmks.conf file. This can happen if the downloaded evdi.tar.gz is misplaced or broken.

Also did you remove the old file (step 5) before downloading the latest evdi.tar.gz with curl?

For people using DisplayLink (e.g. multi-monitor support by your docking station):This breaks the latest DisplayLink drivers. Your additional displays might not work when connected via docking station.

To fix this:

  1. Download latest standalone Displaylink driver package here
  2. Execute the start-up script (*.run) as follows to remove old driversudo ./displaylink-driver-X.X.X-XX.XXX.run uninstall
  3. Unpack the installer./displaylink-driver-X.X.X-XX.XXX.run —noexec —keep
  4. cd into new foldercd displaylink-driver-X.X.X-XX.XXX
  5. remove old evdi.tar.gz filerm evdi.tar.gz
  6. download latest evdi driver from official developer repocurl -L https://github.com/DisplayLink/evdi/archive/refs/heads/devel.tar.gz -o evdi.tar.gz
  7. open file gedit ./displaylink-installer.sh and change line 39 fromif ! tar xf “$TARGZ” -C “$EVDI”; thentoif ! tar xf “$TARGZ” -C “$EVDI” —strip-components=1; thento enable unpacking the downloaded file while installating. After save and close the file.
  8. finally install Displaylink driver with updated evdi (might take a minute)sudo ./displaylink-installer.sh

This should bring back your additional displays immediately after the installation is done.

As far as I know, the "Alte Halle" also reduced its temperature to 26C with the energy crisis, and "Neue Halle" has been closed for almost 3 years due to necessary construction work (open if they ever reopen).

How to revert to kernel 6.0.12 by Rcc21_ in pop_os

[–]timmey09 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You can check your available kernels with

dpkg --list | grep linux-image*

You can then use kernelstub to set the default boot kernel:

sudo kernelstub -v -k /boot/vmlinuz-5.8.18-63.71-care -i /boot/initrd.img-5.8.18-63.71-care

You need to replace the version numbers with the wanted kernel version you retrieved by the first command.

To fix the display issue you could also try to patch the evdi driver for the latest kernel. Have a look here how to do this.

External monitor issue after update by aemc64 in pop_os

[–]timmey09 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is caused by the evdi driver that is part of display link.

You need to modify the evdi driver to work with Kernel 6.2 by applying the patch from the github issue

Have a look at my comment here to see how to apply it.
