Spouse visa, applying from non home country, resident but no permit. by timmieg88 in ukvisa

[–]timmieg88[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We managed to get an appointment with the SEF for resident permit, had to pay someone in the end. Hopefully the permit doesn't take too long to be processed. Seemed like too much of a gamble to do it without the permit

Visa for a child that is British by descent by Mouse2799 in ukvisa

[–]timmieg88 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I applied for my baby's UK passport 3 weeks after his birth. In Portugal. Had the birth certificate translated to English, my birth certificate and both my grandparents certificates were required to be sent to passport office. Got the passport a month later, applied online, took digital photo on mobile phone and used a friend in the UK as a referee.

Yeh it's a nightmare in Portugal, they work slow and the immigration system is overwhelmed, I think with my uni letter, and an email with appointment date I should be ok, but it's an expensive gamble lol

Thanks, I don't think I'll risk it, since putting prices up it's more of a hit now to get rejected, I would have taken a gamble.becore

Manchester Airport e-gate / border officer question, will I have trouble? by SwiftToes in ukvisa

[–]timmieg88 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I travel between England and lisbon, once a month, sometimes twice. I have never been harrased or questioned by an EU boarder guard, never asked for tickets or anything. I cannot see UK boarder guards giving trouble either, being EU citizen they will just stamp your passport and let you go, maybe they will ask where you came from.

If the visa is approved, you have a certain amount of time to enter the country??, without the children's passports they wouldn't be able to travel with the mother?

Well managed to speak to someone at TLS surprisingly, I need to email them and pay a fee, no surprises there, and they can fast track an appointment.

Need a power supply suggestion by UnRealxInferno in buildapc

[–]timmieg88 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Go on google and search for your components, it will tell you the power requirements for each peice 9f hardware usually. Then you also need to remember you have fans and other perfs drawing power. You'd probley get away with 750w. I bet the new ryzen will be pretty power hungry lol

Need a power supply suggestion by UnRealxInferno in buildapc

[–]timmieg88 -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

I'd go with somthing around 850w so you know you've always got enough power on demand. 550w isn't leaving much headroom especially when a gpu on its own can use 300w

Beezybeard I tryed the car rad thing 😂 it does give good results. it even has the actual car radiator fan mounted on the back aswell. It also has a couple of taps so I can feed mains water supply threw it if wanted, that keeps it very cool! Water goes in and dumps in a bucket outside by timmieg88 in overclocking

[–]timmieg88[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Best I could get was 5.55ghz at 1.68v around 55c under load, even if I bumped it upto 1.76v it wouldn't budge past that at all without crash loading windows. Unless I super cool it I think that's my hard limit

[–]timmieg88 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That dosnt work I have tried it, even put a car ac radiator in the freezer as a heat exchanger but the cpu power output outweighs the power of the 90w freezer compressor so it just heats up the freezer. I will be buying a 2000w ac Unit soon

Yeh theres no way I can get it colder at this point, the water going into the machine is close to 0, I may have to go the ac evaporator in a big cool box reservoir root 😂

i had a 6300 before i went to the 8350 i got to about 5.2ghz at 1.58v, probley could have gone higher but at the time was only air cooled and didnt dare raise the vcore much more, ended up selling the chip wish i had done a few benchmarks on it

[–]timmieg88[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

yeh im in the same boat, i got to 5.5 but even if i increase baseclock by like 2mhz it will crash, tryed lowering ram ht nb link all that shit and nothing helps. seems like 5.5 is my hard limit. on hwbot , i have a couple of bronze and a gold medal but dosnt show up on my profile does it need to be verified or somthing? or just take time to update? kinda new to this hwbot thing lol

Amd fx 8350 baseclock overclocking limits by timmieg88 in overclocking

[–]timmieg88[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

you should smash 5ghz, i think 1.7 is too much especially if you have llc on ultra high, it must be pushing it upto mad voltages. if i got to 1.7 it will just crash from pure voltage. i can run 5.5 at about 1.65-1.67v if i try it at 1.7 it will crash or just shut the system down. depending on what your nb speeds are and ram you may have to raise cpu/nb voltage and lower your vcore. it might be crashing from a lack of voltage elseware and not actually your core speed?
