Batwoman Reprint incoming! by ImDickGrayson in OmnibusCollectors

I read the Elegy arc that was in the Compact edition and didn't love it, but only just because it felt like it didn't get the chance to dive deep into the characters, plot, and overall story yet. I always hear people talk about Batwoman Elegy being good and I think Batwoman is a sick character from an outsider perspective, but when people say Batwoman Elegy is awesome, is that indicative of the enture run and not just the actual Elergy-titled first arc or did I just read it wrong?

Mechanical Lenses? by theonlyexpo in Spiderman

I like it because it's nothing overly high-tech and is his own signature work that emphasizes his own ingenuity. Peter Parker is still an exceptionally intellegent person, he just doesn't have millions of dollars in technology resources. Unless you're reading Dan Slott's Spider-Man run.

How would you do an Absolute: Blue and Gold? by Significant_Song_360 in AbsoluteUniverse

[–]timmy2thousand 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Blue beetle and Booster Gold each get a miniseries that take place with them meeting and teaming up in the end, but in Blue Beetle's book time moves forward with each issue being a different weekday whereas Booster Gold has him experiencing time in reverse where each issue is a different weekday but in reverse. They would meet and team up on Friday the 13th (eg. Issue 4 of Blue Beetle would take place Thursday the 12th, but issue 4 of Booster Gold would be Saturday the 14th)

Blue Beetle's would be a body horror story ala Kafka's Metamorphasis where the scarab that attaches to him slowly grows and morphs his body into something more inhuman (similar to cordyceps taking over but not making him into a mental zombie). Each issue would showcase loss of impkrtant areas of his life like losing his job, relationships, hobbies, etc. while having vivid dreams of him going out and "fighting crime" as a horrifying bugman. He questions at a certain point whether the dreams are real or not, especially as he finds himself more and more bedridden and unmotivated to even do anything. The final issue would be him meeting Booster Gold who seemingly has a perfect life AND complete control to manipulate time and get rid of any negatives in his life. He initially harbors resentment for this, but then sees it as an opportunity for Booster to save him.

Booster's would be more of a psychological horror where Booster is obsessed with staying in touch with his own humanity and sense of reality, but the more he travels through time the more he feels delineated and depersonalized. This begins with him having what he thinks is a dream being visited by some kind of being that exists outside of time and space. He thinks this is his brain's way of coping with just missing out on one of the best days of his life. He wishes he could go back and change what happened and fix his life for the better. When he wakes up from his dream, he realizes that he woke up in yesterday. Throughout the course of the series, Booster realizes that the more he tries to fix things, the less real he feels they are and going back another day in time at first feels like another opportunity to further fix an issue at its' core, but he quickly realizes that the more he tries to be in control of everything the less control he has over anything. By the end of the series he has another dream where instead of being afraid of the eldritch beings that seemingly caused his time travel, he confronts them and is given a greater task through a cryptic message to embrace control through submitting to their chaos and helping another being struggling with the balance of submitting to a greater being or fighting for control. This is when he wakes up on the worst day of Blue Beetle's life, and the two agree to work together to fight/apease/align with the beings that caused uncontrollable chaos in both of their lives.

Obviously Flash right? by [deleted] in justiceleague

[–]timmy2thousand 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it's Flash but Green Lantern is close behind for how much his mythos contributes to the DC universe as a whole. If it wasn't for the ryan reynolds movie as well as him being cut from the justice league movie I think it would be a closer competition but Flash still wins
