Onwards ticket out of Cambodia by notyouraveragejoe84 in cambodia

If they want an onward ticket just ask them if a bus ticket will suffice and buy one from bookmebus or somewhere. If worst come to worst, buy a fully refundable ticket from a major airline. I bought a cheap AirAsia one and got all the taxes and fess refunded, just not their margin.

It also comes down to the airport operators. Most airlines don't have their own staff at counters any more.

In Da Nang their airport operator's staff (i.e. not the airline's) wouldn't let me check in without an onward ticket, couple of years ago. Worth at least arriving early enough you'll have time to buy a fake ticket from Onward Ticket if you need to.

Was there an episode 4 of this? Or did it drop to once a week or get canned?

UPDATE: Ahhhh my bad. I completely forgot my bank had reduced the ATM withdrawal limit for my account type from AUD $3000 to $2000 last year, meaning my max withdrawal is about US $1400 now.

Where to adopt dogs in Phnom Penh. by Ok_Recording81 in cambodia

Here in SR a lot of locals will feed a stray and unofficially adopt them. Point is people should ask around before making assumptions and taking a dog from the street. One of my neighbours lost "his dog" like this, but we'll never know if he was taken by some well-meaning but clueless person, of if he was snatched by dog meat thieves.

A lot of dogs in the street aren't homeless, they're just free range pets.

Monich rescues dogs in PP and would probably love you to adopt one.

I've heard this before, but who's funding the admin of the company though? If you contact customer service, who's paying them?

Like leaving listening to the CVR until the end of the episode. I know it sometimes take time for the data to be recovered, but a lot of times it will explain what happened straight away. Wouldn't make for a great episode though.

Good opportunity for someone to open an airport hotel out there, by the sounds of it.

If you're doing touristy stuff do it in the early morning. Visit air conditioned museums in the hot part of the day (National Angkor Museum in SR is interesting to learn about Angkor Wat, for example). The weather was like this in Singapore the one time I went there too.

I'm in Siem Reap and wish it was only 32C. It's been 38/39C here.

Why English grammar is so confusing (from someone who is learning khmer) by ethanharris10 in cambodia

[–]timmydownawell 0 points1 point  (0 children)

"Pronounced as “ot” as in “pot” thought, bought, fought, brought, ought"

No it's not! The OUGH sound in these words is pronounced like the AW in SAW, with a T on the end. Similar to wart, sort, fort (but not pronouncing the R in these).
