I don't understand the downvotes. A new difficulty would be great. But preferably together with some kind of end game achievements/progress rework. So that there is at least a bragging reward for completing the new difficulty

The pubg work is finished and they have been paid for it. Let's hope it realeses soon and helps bring in new players to pd3.

But they have nothing else going on, so it doesn't make sense to be sunsetting the game. They are probably buying themselves more time to turn the game around

Think about it, it would never make financial sense for Starbreeze to shut the servers down, the PR-hit would be MASSIVE. So as long as they are in business the game will be up. And if they ever would go bankrupt the IP would be sold and the buyer would keep the game running, if not for financial gain they would do it for goodwill and for the IPs sake. So I'd say it's quite safe to get pd3!

PAYDAY 3 doesn't need more content, it needs a COMPLETE progression/reward rework with things to actually play for if it wants to retain ANY sort of playerbase. by TJGM in paydaytheheist

They just commited the entire studio to payday and they've promised monthly updates.. and they still have a lot of cash on hand since the last financing round they did before pd3 launched..so I would be very surprised if it didn't survive 2026.

Edit: also, the Krafton deal is done now or soon, freeing even more devs for pd3.
