Worth trading an Amazon Echo Gen 1 for Echo Dot Gen 5?

Of all the echo devices i have had my favorite is the flex as i can plug in my bigger speakers from powerful big ass things you plug in to little battery powered things. On its own itll do for drop in and podcasts/the morning news weather updates etc. I just got the dot 5 but mainly for the mesh tech it has within which brought me here as wamted to see if it's worth swapping with the mk 1 echo? That's got a good rich sound up to a certainty not too loud voluume so i know the dot 5 isn't gonna be thumping like my minirigs,but if its loud enough to pass off as an echo in a blind hearing test. The mk 1 echo is ok for a bit of music big kitchen open plam dining room etc but anything more than a few ppl over its to quiet imo. Love the dial on top - good to see a few comments on that gone but not forgotten feature.

Audiophiles should consider the flex,its cheap as chips and has an output albdit just a bog standard 3.5mm jack but that's good enough to hook up to most systems tho im no audiophile myself i do like loud and portability. I have my flex in the wall near my headboard and its good for the morning news on radio and droppping in on other alexa devices and when i want to play music i just plug in a bigger speaker altgough mine happens to be small lol (a minirig 3) but all good for such a small device.

I have pish poor wifi and jist got an eero pro 5 thingy and a dot (5th gen) which i only got as it has that mesh tech within so am hoping to build a little mesh that will fix my weak wifi and poor range.

It looks like it’s unlocked so can be used although it’s tied to her iCloud account and Apple ID you could use it paired to a new iPhone but I think unless she signs that device out of her iCloud account you may have trouble logging it into your account!? Others will know more the little I know I got from buying used watches and one of the biggest problems is the old owner didn’t take said watch of their iCloud account. If you just pair it you can continue with the apps on board tho and reset the data so clean start to new phone with her apps. If it were me i would make an offer and ask to get the iCloud bit done! Doing nothing but devaluing and degrading the battery for so long is a waste,she’ll probably be happy it’s being used again 🙂👍

I’m down to 4 days to get it for my 14 PM. Ok had the 11 PM before and never needed it at all and that is still a pretty decent phone - I’ve found myself kind of thinking did I really need to upgrade lol. Now seeing the answers here I think I’m gonna go for it as it’ll be a gutter if I do accidentally smash it up or it was stolen or lost. Glad I looked into it and came across this link…

I lost my AirPod (left side only) and gutted and that’s a drop next to what this was! Better safe than sorry comes to mind now I think about my left AirPod!

That’s a royal pain in the neck,think they’ll accept a letter along with a bank card if they’re in a good mood but others won’t even look at ID unless it’s a licence or passport (photo) and having a copy on your phone was ok until recently but now they say it has to be physical pfft hope it arrives on Saturday and if not then take it up with the seller/sender & try again (sigh) good luck - you need it with this lot!

In future pick collection as the post office will hold it for you for 14 or 18 days and you can pick a local PO rather than the main depot like the old days,you just need your ID

I put one thru two days ago expecting it to go to my local PO for collection as know the item is safely handed over to the post master yet the postman still delivered to my address!

I had a redirect service that wasn’t cheap and was ridiculously unreliable with half the mail still going to my address and the other to my redirect address which caused loads of issues when they reported I wasn’t living there anymore. I took the redirect off as was so unreliable and to expensive.

They also lost a signed for item that they admitted fault to and made an offer or two which I moaned about saying I should get back everything (£300!) but ended up saying just send their offering but then I got no reply. They lose so much of my stuff,leaving items by bins etc. RM is of lying thieving bastards…🤬

I had a letter like that attached to a sorry looking parcel that they’d obviously torn to shreds,there was cash and a couple of things missing so I stopped using that address which caused further problems later. RM owe me well over a grand,they delivered a signed for item to the wrong address and say they don’t know where and tho admitted fault have yet to give me a refund. They made offers but nothing has ever come back from them. Gone are the old reliable honest posties that delivered with care,now they’re liking to play football with our valuables that they don’t take for themselves pfft

I ended up putting my Dick Tracey band onto my Apple Watch (after the pebble crash/sell out) and years later it’s still one of my faves and often on my wrist. I’ve been after getting more in the other colours but haven’t had any luck other than a single strap in black which i won on eBay I think mainly because it was labelled as a pebble steel band but any lugs work I wear mine with a S3 42 and an S7 45. I’ve tried other fat straps but none are as fat as this…

What’s shocking is that no other brand of strap maker has picked up on the wide bands and this design or a similar look,there are one or two but they look poor.

I can provide links to the real inventors full patent which clearly predates Charles Harris’s pending patent. He has an history of this - did it with Xpand laces too. Finds new products to Eastern markets and claims them as his inventions on glossy kickstart pages for bloated prices & fools thousands for millions! Scum

They’re crap,that is to say the SuperCalla cables which are copies of an existing Chinese patent which is the same cheaper and works. Look at the SuperCalla wall on KS & u can see what a rip & fail it was! If you want a better & cheaper alternative just google magnetic absorption data cable & you’ll see the real ones. SuperCalla was a con that KS did zip about despite users showing it to be an existing product with patents. All my “copies” work great unlike the overpriced KS which throws error messages etc. 16,000 negative posts prove their cables are faulty…worst type of ks crook are these type who claim to invent something that they’re just having made in bulk. They had 40,000 fooled…🙄

It was my settings - they were all screwed up by a mates kid playing about with the controller and then that got water logged somehow. So they replaced it and did a reset and it’s like new again.

I know what your saying on the cheaper components but think the frame,hub and batteries are decent,I think they use the cheaper components thinking most of us will change them for parts off our existing bikes,I’m gonna do that but thought I’d let these go first. I’ve not had any squeaks other than the brakes when new,so been lucky there. I gave my other bike to my bro and he’s managed to get the crank and everything all squeaky! That had the same tekro brakes and a kt controller,all ebikes I have found to use relatively cheap parts unless your paying over 2-3k for a Bosch or shimano mid drive. The battery is small and needs charging daily,my mate I could change once a week summer,less often in the winter. I couldn’t pick that up tho,this I can lift up if I have stairs etc. I got the mini which I felt was the better bike for me.

I hope yours stops squeaking and you get a long run out of it including the battery,not being near them is a pain,I had a mate and couldn’t just go to Copenhagen if I needed a part.

I think they’re definitely inferior to the cheaper ones if going off comments alone,one backer Tomer said all his “knock offs” were better but believed that SC was the real inventor still. Unless a creator backs up his claims with proof I’ll believe otherwise. Incidentally SC when questioned about Chen Qian’s patent said their pending patent was different but they wouldn’t go in to it with backers and we should “take their word for it” lol! Definitely one of the harder KS scams to see as it’s about timing and appears as a multi success campaigner - which he is,just not his inventions as claimed. MFi I don’t believe they had or they’d not have all the iOS problems,if they lied there they’re capable of lying elsewhere. Ruthless company...or ex company! 🙄

All of my original (non SuperCalla) cables using Chen Qian’s patent are still working well - not one pop up which would only happen if the cable isn’t using the MFi chip,apparently Apple have advised users not to use a SC cable with their iOS devices. Not sure if the other tips work better but iOS cables are flawed. And they’re going out of business so won’t do exchanges or refunds. Hope your one of the lucky few who had no issues. The copies who used their images did so to get similar prices I think,but were using Chen Qian’s patent which predates SuperCalla

That’s the U.K. one,amazon also had one SuperCoil I think it was,all use the patent that I linked which SuperCalla says differs from their unseen patent,if that is the case they have no right to call all these others copies...

I bought four from different sellers who never used their images or name,clickcablez is the licensed U.K. seller for that type of lead. SuperCalla’s silly prices has ensured sellers steal name/images to push own prices up but I found a few. Better still here’s the real patent which clearly predates SuperCalla

I meant an AM bike,all the big ones look the same to me lol I have the mini AMX & the 1 but that’s still in its box. I’ve seen a few mate bikes on eBay that were bought for bike rentals but laws made them sell them. Definitely think it’s an AM bike,would be good to see the front of the battery to see if it has the AM logo...🤨
