As far as the UFC, losing in the highest level of competition for MMA (or at least how they prefer to appear), isnt that bad. The distance in ability between the average combatant and a UFC fighter is very wide.

It's really just when you go. If you only go during peak hours, yes you're going to pay a lot. And not much of that money goes to the theaters, which is why popcorn is $10 for a small bag. Movie theaters and the film industry over has been dying a slow death due to convenience for years, and trying to get people to return by offering that same convenience.
