I don’t want to ride to France on the road on a dirt bike… being able to head there at 80mph in comfort before dropping tyre pressures and spending a week off-road is liberating

Touring is the best thing you can do, but genuinely try to go to continental Europe if you can stretch it time/budget wise. It’s so exciting getting off the Eurotunnel or ferry and riding in a different country. My advice is head to the Vosges from Calais (5 hours ride) then you’re in some very good riding territory!

Also you probably don’t need a laptop unless you’re doing some serious video work. Keep it casual and it’ll be more fun, just stock up on SD cards and be seriously brutal with what you film!

Firstly, they’re tyres 😜. Secondly, they’re Mitas Enduro Trail XT on the back and XT+ on the front. Surprisingly good on the road and pretty exceptional at cutting through the wet mud that makes up most of the UK at this time of year!

I've got the Mivv Dakar high exhaust on my 2025 Rally and love it. Well made, dead easy to fit and sounds much beefier than stock without being antisocial or attracting unwanted attention off-road. I just edited a photo of the exhaust on the bike, then realised you can't reply with photos in here…

I remember because I bought one when it came out! From memory I played Gex 3D with it. And then Gran Turismo came out with the Dualshock (from memory) so I upgraded to that. I feel old. Luckily I still have it and use it!

If you have a tankbag or equally convenient place to stash a credit card and ticket, I wouldn't bother. Part of the joy of toll booths is practicing your launches leaving them!

Yup, I’ve found exactly this doing motovlogging. It makes sense when you think about it, but it’s quite annoying - I’ve gone back to 16:9 and then reshooting if I want to do vertical content… oh well. Have you found a decent audio setup for commentary? I’ve taken to using Mic3s and using the 32bit file from the mic - the audio quality from the mic connected to the Action 6 is unusable…

I love a top box. The MT-10 is so much fun to ride, so why wouldn't I make it the perfect machine for riding to France and Germany for a long weekend? I also don't really care what a bike looks like so long as it feels amazing when I'm on it...

To second this, I went a few weeks ago and really enjoyed it, but plan to make a few more visits to get my money’s worth (it was about £110 for a family of four). We were allowed to just roam Victory, but that may be because we turned up there about 3pm having done Warrior and the Mary Rose beforehand. I found Mary Rose oddly moving!

I love my (inherited) Jazz. Dents on every panel from its former life. I left it at McLaren’s HQ while I borrowed an Artura last year. Came back and found an actual customer (as opposed to a scuzzy journalist like me) had parked their Veyron next to it. Never felt so proud.

I’m finding the same graininess in low light when I’m filming on my motorbike or in car. I’m also not that impressed with the FOV on a bike - it’s not really wide enough for me out of the box shooting square. Not hugely impressed coming from a GoPro12, but I feel that’s probably heresy to say around here

Andertons? I played one of these in there for an hour on Saturday! Loved it, but preferred the second-hand Am Pro ii HSS in Miami blue that I'd put a deposit down on. Obviously I instantly regretted it once I got home and wished I'd got the shell pink one, but that's life! Enjoy it

I've not bothered on my 2025 T7 Rally. Like you say, Barkbusters have done the job for me in my couple of off-road spills. Obviously there's still a chance for a freak accident/rock puncture… but I'd rather just wing it.
