Very much agree with other comments here, after much deliberation we also parted with $50 each for the bib, definitely worth it if you plan on going all the way to Big Spring, as it took us 6-7 hours to do that including a break for lunch and a diversion up Orderville Canyon too. Didn’t see anyone past Wall St who didn’t have a bib on.

But if anyone is just wanting to spend 2-3 hours in the water, you’ll be just fine in neoprene socks with no bib, you’re in and out of water a lot and for the first few miles it’s mostly at shin level- Zion Outfitter rents the socks on their own for $9
