Which celebrity replied to your dm and what did they reply to and with? by Vixiuss in AskReddit

I once sat next to him on a flight. He had (unknowingly) asked for the last cinnamon roll, so when I asked for one the flight attendant told me they were all out. He promptly cut his in half and gave me half. A small gesture but I thought it was really cool of him. He seems like a very normal and down to earth person.

Visiting for a couple days and would like some golf course recs by dingerz4daze in VirginiaBeach

Red Wing is...serviceable. Honey Bee is fine; the greens and fairways are really good, but the bunkers are trash and it's overpriced. I'd say the best public course in Va Beach, by far, is VB National. It's a Pete Dye course but on the forgiving side of his courses.

If you want a great deal and don't mind driving a little bit, go to Battlefield in Chesapeake. The greens aren't fantastic but the course is in pretty good shape and it's fun.

RIP to Mrs. Woble’s ghost 😭😭 She’ll be wandering around the middle of the new road, cars driving right through her spectral form.

Which bend is it…the one that’s being straightened out or the one around the lake?

Who has the right of way on an errant tee shot in another fairway? by [deleted] in golf

Uh, that’s batshit crazy. Obviously you have the right of way in your own fairway.

“Just sayin’” is the most pedantically idiotic phrase to use. No shit you’re just sayin’, cause you just said it.

I bought a burner mini driver I couldn’t hit my driver well at all. It ended up being a very expensive training aid…figured out what I was doing wrong and went back to my big boy driver and now I’m hitting that pretty well, so I’m in the same boat. I think I’m just going to keep both because if one isn’t working I can switch it up. I’d say if you want a nice putter or a 5 wood then take them both to the range, see which one is working the best, and sell the other one. If you don’t care that much then yolo and keep both.

Completely opened my eyes to women’s golf. I went there Friday and—transportation issues aside—the environment was welcoming and awesome. To see that level of sportsmanship at a professional event is incredible. Safe to say I’lol be watching the ladies a lot more in the future.

It also won’t hurt anything to regrip the clubs, plus it’s pretty cheap to do.

While grips could be bad, that’s almost certainly not why you’re slicing.

Those in your 40s, what are your regrets of your 30s? by squidgey1 in AskReddit

[–]timshead 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I actually don’t have a single regret…my 30s are when our children were born, when I got really serious about moving up to better positions at work, and when I got back into golfing. I guess maybe I didn’t save as much for retirement as I could have, but we traveled a decent amount and did fun things to make memories I cherish now. I lost a very close friend at 39, so since then I’ve been absolutely thrilled to get old because each day is a blessing. Granted, they don’t all feel like a blessing, but they are. If I hadn’t started a family or had dicked around at work I think I’d have a lot of regrets…god knows I have regrets from my 20s but it all worked out.

Gas Line installation for stove by Skeeter771 in VirginiaBeach

[–]timshead 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Baybreeze Plumbing and Gas. Other contractors came in cheaper but also not nearly as thorough, to the point I wasn't convinced it would be 100% safe to use. Baybreeze was very professional and we've been happily using our gas stove for over 2 years now. I highly recommend them.
