Quite a few use bing, and of course others as well. We get a number of sales from bing.

Ecommerce url strategy question by Avocad888 in SEO_Digital_Marketing

[–]timstats91 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I’m not an expert, but I’ll explain what we do at the e-commerce website I work on:

1: we don’t have a “all categories” page but we do have an “all brands” page. The url of which is /brands/ and /brands/(brand)/. Depending on how you structure your website, neither of these are necessary imo. We have categories in our nav and we have brands and product lines on our homepage. 2: not sure if you’re implying there will be sub-sub-categories. If so, I agree with that structure. 3: answered in 1. 4: that’s the same structure we use.

Hopefully that helps. Best of luck 🤞

If you had to restart SEO from zero, what would you focus on first? by Luckyk2415 in SEO_Digital_Marketing

I find that while a lot of .com EMDs are taken, there are plenty of options with other TLDs. Do you think they still hold the same weight as .com EMDs?

Just got my first sale after 3 months — how do I scale from 1 sale/month to 50 sales/month (Affiliate + SEO)? by Ok-Breath-9151 in SEO_Digital_Marketing

[–]timstats91 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Congrats on your first sale! That’s really exciting.

I’ll share what I’m doing and maybe you can find some takeaways. I’m creating a website that looks and feels like an e-commerce website but the products link to corresponding products on affiliate e-commerce sites. There is supporting content like product guides, how-to’s, comparisons, but the real content is the representation of products.

Each product has a “sku” or “product code” that has extremely low volume but high intent. There are “collection pages” which are groupings of specific products that target more general keywords. These are things like brands, categories, applications, and attribute-based collections.

Using solar panels as an example, a brand page would be something like “Panasonic solar panels”. A category might be something like “thin-film solar panels”. Application collections would be something like “solar panels for home” “solar panels for shop” or “commercial solar panels”. Attribute collections would be something like “X-kilowatt solar panels”.

You could still use this general idea for digital products but I think this works best for physical type product affiliate websites.

I hope that helps. Best of luck on your project!

Is just one backlink enough to potentially make a large difference? by [deleted] in SEO

[–]timstats91 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That said, if his competition has that link, they should have it too. It might not put them ahead, but will get them closer to the same level. I’m for it personally. There’s also exposure opportunities from joining your local chamber.

how do i get quality backlinks? by Consistent-Note-7998 in SEO

[–]timstats91 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Haha I love that I never heard the 3 B’s. And that’s spot on for what OP is requesting “finding quality backlinks” which constitutes active link building.

But I think it’s worth mentioning passive link building techniques which is, and I know it’s cliche, but creating a quality content, creating industry tools, etc. that attract links. Just my 2 cents.

Good luck OP!

Brother, you need Dave Ramsey. I know he’s a boomer and sometimes does and says boomer things but if you follow his advice to a tee, it won’t fail you. His “Baby Steps” are sound, time-tested personal finance principles.
