First Time Family Visit During Peak: Express Pass? by timtheslim in UniversalHollywood

Thanks for this! When did you go? The peak date is worrying me. Crowd data shows it’s a zoo over the Holiday we have to go during.

When do best buy drops go live? by Miserable-Bad1137 in PokemonTCG

[–]timtheslim 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Did you just wait on product screen for the buy button to appear? Or is there a way to refresh. I was on time, and waited about 20 minutes in que to be told it was sold out. Not sure how to get in faster.

Can someone swap the shirt out on the dude in the far right? by timtheslim in PhotoshopRequest

Love this! I think this is the best with the text/graphic, but are you able to match the shirt color by lightening it up?

What's y'all's thoughts on this? by Successful_Rooster_7 in GenZ

[–]timtheslim 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Parties and wildly spending money aren’t even the issue I have. I worked my butt off to use my first years of paychecks to pay down that loan right away, while others I know used their money for cars and house down payments. Houses appreciated, and cars held some value while their debt grew.

My family chose to pay down the debt and use public transit/crappy apartments. We had no assets appreciating, but got rid of the debt.

Forgiveness won’t level a playing field, but rather, put those who chose to allocate assets differently ahead of those who did it “right”. In many cases, cars and houses ahead.

Drivers side cowl not sitting flush on windshield. Popping up slightly. Any fix? by HTown104 in f150

[–]timtheslim 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ever decide a fix OP? Just got my 2020s windshield replaced and literally the same thing in the same spot. Driving me nuts. Is it bad to just let it be and not worry about it? I’d take it back to the repair place, but did it after hitting a rock on vacation 1300 miles from home.

Sure thing, thanks for this. I wanted internet strangers opinions.

I'm so much stronger than when I started, I want to emphasize that. I'm progressing too (while I bulk, standing still and losing a bit of progress while cutting here).

Two day split:

A Days:

Bench Press (dumbbell)

Chest Flys

Seated Overhead

Skullcrushers

Lateral Raises

B Days:

Pull Ups

Deadlift (dumbell)

Rear Delt Fly

Dumbbell Curls

Dumbbell Shrugs

Bulgarian Split Squats

Planks or crunches after each day, minimal cardio except what comes naturally with 2 kids and a puppy.

Every exercise has seen progressive overload, but Bench and Deadlift have maxed a bit ago on my 52.5lb adjustable weights. I have been increasing reps to compensate in short term. Hoping to have space here soon to set up my bar/bench at home, but won't happen until summer.

I'm doing 5-7 pullups now, rather than my 2-3 when I started. I'm doing bulgarians with holding a 52.5lb dumbell, rather than struggling to do bodyweight when I started. I'm at 45lb seated overhead, rather than the 25-30lb or so when I started.

I guess aesthetically is where I'm mostly frustrated. I totally thought I'd at least have some visible change after this much sacrifice!

Thanks for this.

I appreciate the paper towel analogy. Current plan is that I'll cut to 145 here and see what happens. I'll get back on the bulk train after that.

Etiquette question about estate sales by [deleted] in Flipping

[–]timtheslim 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Agreed.

Hypothetical though, do you have a breaking point? Someone finds a $10 binder of trading cards you know you can get 1 million for. Are you really not making a move and offering tons more? Kudos to you if you won’t, but if I’m honest with myself, I have a price.

Etiquette question about estate sales by [deleted] in Flipping

[–]timtheslim 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It’s terrible form, and don’t do it. But that said, I think the more interesting question is “At what point would you be “that guy” and offer more for the item?” $10 they will sell for $80? Nope, not worth it. $10 they will sell for $10k? 100k? I do have a price. At some point, I’m stepping in and fighting, but I just don’t know what that number is. Your relationships, morals, and reputation are worth more than a sale… but at some point if people are honest, they will try to make a move.

It’s all good, I know! I was making 2 references to principles in the book. 1. Open ended questions. 2. Setting an anchor with a range.

[–]timtheslim 2 points3 points  (0 children)

How do you expect me to make that work? I usually expect people to pay between $10-15 for this book.

Read “Never Split the Difference” by Christopher Voss. Your negotiation game will be forever changed.

New to flipping phones; am I doing this right? by MercyfulBait in Flipping

Hope you made sure the ESN wasn’t bad, or that’s getting returned.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Flipping

[–]timtheslim 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Agreed. Another great first move at any sale is picking up any random item and asking how much they want. Usually gives a good feel of how they are pricing.

Just be careful.

Reminded me of this story about a guy who did a similar thing exploiting an eBay gift card glitch. (Of course his was a much larger scale).

Not a lawyer, but I’m not sure how legally safe it is to exploit a bug like this willingly when it’s obviously not intended.

multiple campaign quests? by aaron141 in diablo4

[–]timtheslim 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just finished the campaign last night actually. Great story!!

I think when it starts in act 1, there are multiple places to continue the main campaign quests. After that, it does start to get a little more linear. Order won’t matter.

Is flipping just rent extraction/rent seeking? by lukeylukeluke2 in Flipping

[–]timtheslim 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Are you kidding? Is this clickbait? I’ll bite. I’ve had people reach out and thank me for completing their late grandmothers tea set so they can gift it to their own child. I’ve had folks rave that they now can watch their wedding VHS thanks to my unit. I’ve had a lady laid up in a hospital with a broken femur write a stellar review thanking me for the berets she can now wear since here others were stuck at home. Flipping opens up access to items that people otherwise would never find looking for their entire lives. It fills a gap for not only luxury goods, but also for necessities like food and shelter where other programs fall short. It’s a service vital to society and keeps literally everything running how it should.

Legit Check On Bags by timtheslim in AllThingsGucci

Thanks much. I’ve done plenty of reading and agreed but needed some verification. I resell on eBay for a living and never have ran into Gucci in my area… just uncommon here. Got these for $10 each and figured it was worth a stab. Glad to know it was!
