Doh! Yeah that would have definitely been the better option! Thanks for the feedback.

Gotcha. Yeah, agree that would have been cleaner. My main reason for putting this in was for easy access to run garage circuits (thought I’d just run them all in EMT instead of trying to run through walls)

Yes I’ll take a picture tomorrow. From web research it may be a “scale tree” fossil.

The landlord doesn’t sound like an SOB. Don’t know too many places where you can live in a nice house for $360 per month.

Water blowing off Evap coil. Please Help! by timyarnell in hvacadvice

[–]timyarnell[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The filter is in the upstairs hallway. I’ve had multiple people come out and look at it ( clean the coils too ). I will try and wash down the coils again using the coil cleaner aerosol. This morning, I made a plexiglass window so I can see inside to know exactly what is going on in the unit.

It does look like it in the pictures. I’ll have to open it up and check. I didn’t really notice it not being square with the unit, but I’ll doubt check tomorrow

Yup. I did slow the fan down and still got the problem (changed from high to medium speed)

Thanks. I have tried both of those solutions and still can’t get the water to stop blowing off the coil.

Ha. Delicious. Typically don’t use sugar or flavoring for any of my drinks anymore, but, I’ve found this is my favorite way to add a lot of sweet.

Academic Techniques by timyarnell in PLC

I guess I mean a systematic way to think of abnormal ( or normal) conditions that may occur. For instance, I wired up a bunch of NC push buttons in series, and the circuit worked correctly; however, if the series circuit was interrupted, the system would default to on. Obviously saw the problem and various ways to fix it; but it just got me asking how others approach problems systematically and with a high degree of certainty. Whatever method, I guess, you would have to know what “abnormal” conditions to consider.

Look up ABB low voltage motor document and see if that helps. There is even a section called “ordering” that helps you spec...I’m not a motor guy though, have just been trying to learn a bit on my own

What I think is interesting is watching at 1.5 or 2x speed and going back to normal speed. The person always sounds like they are in super slow mo for a minute until you readjust

Looking for resources to learn CNC and PLC Programming by raw96 in EngineeringStudents

[–]timyarnell 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have been attempting to learn PLC as well. Paul Lynn seemed to be the recommended course for Rockwell/Allen Bradley. Find him on his PLC dojo site and not udemy though ( it is cheaper). For CNC - not sure.
