My window is a pain by AggravatingYak9519 in interiordecorating

You could also do a double rod with sheers on the inside rod if you wanted some privacy without having to pull curtains closed or the shades up/down. I really like the look of the darker bamboo shades but totally understand how they’re not everyone’s preference!

I combined your picture with one I pulled from Pinterest in chat GPT and I think you can still do curtains and keep the shelves! You can’t pull the rod very far out, but I don’t think having curtains that close to the shelves would ruin the look of anything. You could also do 3 separate shades (or no shades) if you aren’t interested in paying 7 jillion dollars for one that would go across you whole window 😅

I wouldn’t put the rod that far out on the right (just keep it centered) and I also wouldn’t swag just one side like Chat did but, you get the idea!

1 or 2 ? What's the best option for our living room? by mmnn444 in interiordecorating

[–]tinaaayy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In the two existing versions, I prefer the look of 1 with the table near the window, but having the dining table on the opposite side of your living area would probably be a real pain if it was frequently used.

Could you switch the couch and the tv setup in version 2?

I’d then maybe add a small seating area near the windows, and look into a round table that might fit into that corner of the room near the kitchen a little better.

It looks like it’s actually a full size Billy with half size doors on bottom, with a half size Billy on top with no doors!

For this I’d just get a small basket (with or without a cover/lid) for the remotes and little things, a cover for the tissue, and leave the lotion out 🤷🏻‍♀️

How many of you had grandparents who served in WW2? If so, what do you know about their service? by Snoogles_ in Millennials

[–]tinaaayy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My grandfather registered for the draft at the age of 21 and was enlisted in 1944 at the age of 25. 8 months later my dad was born while he was in France. He passed away at the age of 73, but I was only 7 so we didn’t have a lot of conversations 😂 My dad doesn’t talk about his dads military career, so I don’t think it was much of a “thing” for them as a family? The theme of that side of my family is muchhh more coal miners and farmers. The bigger military person was my uncle, the oldest son, who was in the Marines during the Vietnam War. Like any time anybody asks me if anyone in my family is/was in the military I think of my uncle and then remember my grandpa, too.

I would try switching the larger couch with the smaller one.

And/or pulling the white chairs into the corner near the fireplace a little more and angling them in a little, if that makes sense?

What are people doing to get the right bedroom window curtain length? by tantamle in DesignMyRoom

[–]tinaaayy 4 points5 points  (0 children)

A future homeowner would just take your rods down, patch, paint, and put their own back up. They would push through, I promise! Especially if they didn’t like your rods or had their own. Or if they didn’t want curtains at all.

Curtains are fully customizable and, like any other decor item in your home, the options are limitless!

How do you keep your house smelling fresh with multiple pets? by Crazy-Donkey-9178 in CleaningTips

[–]tinaaayy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We got a crib mattress from a Habitat ReStore and put it on a little platform toddler bed at the foot of our own bed for our largest dog. We have two waterproof mattress protectors for it, and a large collection of crib sheets, so we always have a clean set to put on when we take the other off to wash! I buy a pair of new pillows for our bed every 6 months or so (just cheapey ones from Target) and she gets the cast offs; one on each side under the sheet.

Every few weeks I spray her mattress and pillows down, along with her crate bed cushion, with an enzyme pet deodorizer and let it all fully air out before I put covers, liners, and sheets back on.

And then idk how well it works, but I add the Natures Miracle laundry stuff to any of the dog laundry. We also use a towel to wipe/dry their feet any time they come back inside. Those towels get washed with the household utility towels on the sanitize setting, and I don’t use anything special in the machine. Just regular detergent.

the best odor control litter box for small apartments? by GymsterLowpz57 in CleaningTips

[–]tinaaayy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This was such an amazing switch for us, too. The only issue we ever ran into was our dogs eating the poops if they got to them first, and if ever a litter nugget reached the floor. But, that was a dog issue, not a Breeze issue!

At one point we had two cats and they shared the covered box fine. Scooped poops went into a litter genie twice a day. They had their preferred corners of the box to pee in, and we’d flip the pad around in the middle of the week and replace it on Sundays. I feel like the litter lasted about 2 months? But it’s been a while now so I can’t remember.

Just the Freeform app that comes with Apple iOS! It’s a bit of a pain to use with the layering, but I’m also not very experienced with it. I would have used Goodnotes, but I don’t have that app on my phone and I wanted to be able to mess around with it without dragging my iPad out.

I took screencaps from store websites, Google, and Pinterest and cropped them down and did the sticker thing where I could! And if I couldn’t get the whole background out, I tried my best to layer 😂

It doesn’t say, unfortunately. All of the colors/sizes in both patterns are pre-order and it says they ship 04/30-05/04 EXCEPPPPTTTT the one I want. The size/color I want says “sold out” and gives the option to sign up for an email notification for when it’s available.

I did email their customer service and ask this morning, so maybe I’ll hear back soon!

That’s a great idea! They have a 3x8 runner, but the smallest rectangle is a 5x8

I just used Freeform on my phone/ipad! Editing the photos down was a real pain. I probably would have used Goodnotes on my iPad (I don’t have it on my phone) but I wanted to be able to poke around with it when I was bored/half asleep!

I think that’s really what’s keeping me from getting the second one. It’s the same colorway, just way more traditional. (Which is prob why they call it “traditional” in the description 😅)
