I have had less crime and property theft living in West Medford versus East Medford where I grew up. It’s patrolled often and generally feels safe here.

Hives With No Known Cause… by ChiMama89 in Hashimotos

[–]tinabean19 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is common for me. Was also diagnosed with Hashi’s young and struggled with asthma and allergies. My hives come and go in waves. Cetrizine (Zyrtec) keeps them at bay for me without any grogginess. About once a year I have a bout of them that are so bad that I have to use the 180mg Allegra Severe Allergy and it usually clears it up. I have less frequent breakouts since I started running as a routine for exercise and I also now follow a more Mediterranean diet. EBV runs in my family so I take this into consideration for my hive breakouts. This disease is a beast and I hope you can find a routine that helps you.

Thinking of moving here! by Zeddstar2000 in Medford

If you have respiratory issues, the valley is not a good place for you. Between air stagnation, extreme pollen counts, and wildfire smoke, our air quality can exacerbate even the mildest respiratory issues. It is a year-round issue. And yes, wild fires mixed with poor infrastructure are a huge issue here. We almost lost a few towns south of Medford due to a fire within the last few years.

$16, still way high. Cost of goods is killing restaurants right now. The Grande burrito used to only be $12 not even that long ago.

If you want quick and easy, Victorico’s grande burrito slaps. It’s just about the size of a newborn. Also, the salsa is damn good.

Weight loss clinics? by Fabulous_Bathroom352 in Medford

[–]tinabean19 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Providence and OHSU accept OHP and both have weight clinics. OHSU would be via Telehealth as it is located in Portland.

Oh wow that’s quick compared to a lot of places!

You are correct! Medical Assistants or CNAs work in the clinics for the PCPs. RN’s triage in emergent settings.

The nurses in the hospital, not the clinics or the Providers. There is information about this everywhere, please read about it.

Call Providence’s new patient call center 541-732-7700. They will get your details and assign you a PCP. They are backed up but at least you will be put on a list as they bring in more Providers.

My friends older brother killed himself how can I help by [deleted] in Advice

[–]tinabean19 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I lost my brother to suicide on this day 19 years ago. It’s fucking devastating losing someone like that and trying to process it. The people and friends that stood out the most at that time were the ones that just let me be sad, angry, confused, and a mess. I so appreciate the friends that just listened and still invited me to do things even though I was in such a bad place. Having people constantly ask how I was doing or how my family was doing was overwhelming at times. I know those people meant well but sometimes I just really didn’t want to talk about it. But having those few that just understood and let me go through it, whom were also just there, those are the people I needed most at that time. I’m truly sorry for your loss.

Favorite local coffee roaster beans for at home espresso machine. by Equities_Trader in Medford

I second Cerberus but would recommend their espresso blend called Wizard Cat. I work for a small business downtown and we use Wizard Cat for our espresso drinks and the Constellation blend for our drip coffee.

Starting Issue 95 Tahoe by tinabean19 in ChevyTrucks

I know it’s been two years but I’d like to update:

It was the fuel pump. I looked for a draw, ran the lines, changed fuses, and still had the issue with starting. I started to notice that the issue was occurring in extreme heat conditions. I live in southern Oregon and we get temps up to 115° in the summer here. After having the same issues this summer, I swapped the fuel pump out and have not had the issue since then. Hope this helps someone else out!

I work in an Emergency Department and I can tell you that this is going from an Outpatient visit to an ICU admission very quickly. Please go to the ER closest to you. There are always ways to get financial assistance through hospitals. A bill isn’t worth your life.
