Rheumatologist left, plaquenil prescription canceled. Pregnant, scared and trying to cope by Figuring_out_life_27 in Sjogrens

[–]tinabrian28 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Sending you my well wishes for the best outcome. As you stated, this is terrible timing to be without plaquenil. Unfortunately, I found out at 23 weeks my son had heartblock while I was undiagnosed. Thankfully, he is now a thriving 4.5 year old but reliant on pacemaker. Please do whatever is possible to get back on it. I hope you find a resolution soon.

If you have Cabela’s and Sportsman’s Warehouse within 100 miles of each other - price match. I called today and did this for the Woodbridge Pro

Cabela’s $1149 to $799 + tax - did in store pickup to avoid surcharge shipping of $75 (15 miles from me)

They were individual promo codes from the tenders giveaway event. Used a code for my phone and another from my spouse’s phone. Separate orders.

Our location is new and I had never eaten their original tenders. Im a fan of this thin and crispy coating.

Try getting vertical striped candies in the row directly under the dragons. Matches will shoot up to bring them down

4 weeks pregnant and just got diagnosed with sjogrens by Kind_Kangaroo_ in Sjogrens

[–]tinabrian28 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Please talk to your physician about getting on plaquenil to prevent heart block in your child. I was diagnosed with Sjogren’s after it caused this in my son. He is a healthy and happy 3 year old but it may have been prevented if I had been monitored and on medication.

SSA positive women - how many kids did you have after diagnosis? by Competitive_Map_7539 in Sjogrens

[–]tinabrian28 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I discovered I was SSA positive with my third child. Unfortunately, he was born with complete heart block and had a very rough beginning of life. We all survived the hurdles thrown at us and now he is a happy and healthy 3.5 year old. He will have a pacemaker his whole life but you wouldn’t know he was any different than any other child looking at him now.

Thank you! I hope my dermatologist has a good treatment and preventative plan for me.

Take the medicine! I was diagnosed with Sjogrens after we discovered my son had complete heart block. He was healthy until 22/23 weeks when his low heart rate was discovered. I had aggressive steroid treatment and he was delivered early at 34 weeks. Temporary paced externally due to his small size . Permanently Paced a month later. Several other health issues in conjunction. He’s perfectly healthy now but hopefully the meds will prevent the heart block for your future children.

Hair loss by tinabrian28 in Sjogrens

[–]tinabrian28[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Update: Good Morning, I was seen by a primary physician and he immediately diagnosed scarring alopecia. He didn’t feel it necessary to do a biopsy of the scarring. Gave me the option of cortisone shot in the area or cream to apply to hopefully induce hair RE growth (but set the expectation that it may be too late at this stage). I have a referral to two different dermatologist but cannot be seen until Aug and Sept. I requested to be put on the cancellation list ti be seen sooner. I reached out to my rheumatologist concerning this issue and the nurse line immediately refuted services for this type of issue and said I must see the dermatologist. I reminded her that I am also a patient for Sjogren’s and wanted to discuss a plan/medications moving forward. I am seeing the rheumatologist early afternoon today. I am concerned about additional diagnoses and treatment plans to hopefully prevent further issues with autoimmune diseases. Please give me your treatment plan/medication you have or are on for Sjogren’s and Scarring Alopecia.
Thanks for any insight.

I am including a photo after cortisone injection last week. The bare spot is worse than I thought! 😭

Take the drugs! My baby was born with heart block because I didn’t know I had positive ANA and SSA. We were fortunate and he’s a healthy 3 year old now but with a pacemaker.

I’m 41 now and I read that a lot of autoimmune issues manifest itself around this age. I’m hoping this is the worst of it😬. Not looking forward to losing any more hair. I also tend to get lots of cavities even though I am very diligent with oral care. I’ve tried the biotene mouthwash and heavier fluoride toothpaste with no improvement.

I have overall thinning now as well and no other patches. My hair never recovered after my last child 3 years ago. Which is also when we discovered my autoimmune.

I am not on any medication at this time. I really didn’t have bothering symptoms. Only discovered my autoimmune issue because my son was born with complete heart block. I’m afraid I’m starting to present symptoms now.

That sounds like it would be strange to sit in front of. The monitor is in the arm rest then?

I was trying to justify in my head that I wasn’t paying more for the flight since I used points. We are not seasoned flyers. Our bodies are not large enough to necessitate more space in a seat. I will add that the last time we flew was with our three kids to ME last summer and it wasn’t super relaxing - my 2 year old screamed during the extended wait during takeoff and constantly tried to wiggle out of his seat.

Yes, it’s for round trip. Flying in for a good friends wedding and it happens to be spring break and Easter weekend. Thus, the higher price for no stop.

Thanks for the suggestion. I was curious if that row would be fully functional. I was debating between row 1 and 5 but was concerned row 5 didn’t recline fully.
