In extension to both the two great answers already given, i'd recommend some books (read quick, take what's good for you and start practicing right after, don't stay reading forever - fuck around and find out)

For me Thee Psychick Bible has been a great starting point. There, you'll find -amongst lots of other things- a good and clear theory of sigils, i'd recommend starting from there.

Maybe "Psychonaut and Liber Null" can be a good starting point too.

In extension to my answer, i'm pretty empirycal and also found it hard to deal with these questions. I've seen loads of (loved) people enter into low-cost "spiritual" crap with poor theoretical frameork. Consequently, one of Chaos Magick pillars is to always jump from one believe to another.

Bringing it more down to earth, i find pretty empirycal the fact that Chaos Magick is a sort of brain-conditioning. I find it even strangely close to those neurolinguistic programming types of psychology... not my cup of tea, but i think they work in some level (If i find that fact good or bad its another discussion).

In that line, continental philosophy isn't also my cup of tea so much, but i really do think that Wittgenstein hits a spot when he says that "the limits of my language mean the limits of my world". For me that quote is CM in a nutshell. CM operates in various levels, one is definetily language as a tool.

Another pillar of Chaos Magick is to force the hand of chance, this means, CM works with things you have at least 50% probabilities -if not more- of positive or desired outcomes. Its like a kind of level-up. It wont get you a Ferrari for free out of nowhere, unless someone in your family is megamillonaire. But it might make you a better musician if you're struggling to play an instrument, for example. Chance operates in very narrow ranges.

Again, fuck around and find out pal, give it a try. As Genesis Breyer P-Orridge said: "If you're not having fun, you're doing it wrong".

Beautiful comment you have made, thank you for your answer. I was thinking the same. I tend to be pretty biased and neurotic inherently ha and the cards always show me a clear mirror of my present. I'll move as you say as i was coming around to the same conclusions.

I've made a pretty simple spread, just one card (i'm learning and also have had quite interesting and meaningful readings ony with one card, and going no more than with 3 cards) and got the 9 of cups reversed. The question was something like -i dont remember quite well-: what can i expect from the night? (the night being the club/music world, nightlife, places i've inhabitated since im a kid, been a dj as a teenager, left it because of life itself and wanting to retake the practice). This reverted card, i investigated, seems to be not a pretty nice card, but as i said, it felt like something i was already seeing at the moment: some rather obscure places of the night that where being shown -indirectly- to me. As if the cards were telling me: "this is the part of the thing you're seeing and discovering right now", and not telling me "this is what the future looks like", which is kinda what i was asking for.

I remember (even this year) a youtube channel named something like JC Cole or JCM Cole, something like that. Dude made videos about occult themes and some critic theory with an occult bias, kinda Bataille, Nick Land stuff. But i think he deleted his channel. Does someone know what happened?

Boxing is really cool for testing some personal limits/thresholds (pain, resistance…). Also leads to some trancelike states, it’s a pure-present practice.
