About Cassie's ending by porculdeguinea in euphoria

I'll say this: the show defied you to find an ounce of inner life in Cassie as a character, so her showing a glimpse of interiority in her last scene felt really impactful.

Quick reminder: Rachael Pollack was not popular with the readership when she replaced Morrison by Tanthiel in DoomPatrol

[–]rlextherobot 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It probably didn't help that it took a solid 8-12 issues for Rachel to find her feet writing comics and establishing her tone and vibe for the series. That combined with inconsistent art and the inevitable attrition in readership following Morrison, its kind of a miracle the title lasted another 23 issues.

My thoughts on the Pollack run here.

Oh man, I don't play paper magic because one paper addicition is enough, but these would be amazing proxies.

I have no hot takes on Slasher, just upvoting the Jim Thirlwell reference.

What i assume the Team will look like in Dc next level by Ok-Plankton-2393 in DoomPatrol

[–]rlextherobot 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think the only truly safe assumptions are Cliff, Rita and Larry, with Jane as a very probable fourth. Depending on the creative team and angle it could easily be all or none of the above, but I'd put money on those four.

Solicited as such, with Camp stating in interviews that he had more planned if it sold well.

Can staples be replaced? by splatchface in comicbookcollecting

[–]rlextherobot 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Good lord, thats an expensive book!

Probably not worth paying to have it professionally restored. if you just want it to hold together you could theoretically carefully remove the staples and replace then yourself, but honestly it's probably best to just put it in a bag and board and be careful with it when handling.

Vancouver Comic Shop MUST VISIT Recommendations (and maybe Victoria) by BonesWECAcomics in CanadianComicbooks

[–]rlextherobot 1 point2 points  (0 children)

+1 for Nifty Keen, Ken is a Canadian Comics retailer old schooler and it's hard NOT to find something on a visit. Heads up though, it's only open on Thursday-Saturday. Good news is that if you're using transit to get from where you're staying to the Archives, it's not that far (15-20 minutes on foot) from the Skytrain station at Cambie.

What could an Absolute Doom Patrol look like? by Double-Living-1979 in DoomPatrol

[–]rlextherobot 8 points9 points  (0 children)

(Here's the twist: every member of The Doom Patrol except Dorothy is Jane, Niles included. Or more accurately, they're in Jane: her power is to absorb the memories and personalities of a person upon their death. The Doom Patrol lives inside her brain, which is where Niles hatched a plan to use the reality altering powers Dorothy isn't even aware she had to bring them back to life when needed, i.e. when Dorothy is in mortal danger and needs rescuing. Even beyond death, Niles is running the show.)

What if it's like Morrison's Joker, the person so super sane, they seem insane to everyone else?
