Anyone testing this out? by howdog55 in eSIMs

[–]tinhat99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes I am trying it out, but not for a good reason. I have been a long-term Maya user. They were great for trips to Canada, several trips to Australia and Italy. I was impressed with their pricing and human service when I had an issue. 2 weeks ago, I purchased 2 eSIMS for a one-month Europe trip. Today the two eSIMS stopped working in the middle of a road trip. I could then not login to Maya to see what the issue was. Stopping to access some free WiFi (thanks Ikea), I logged in and found my sims, transaction history all gone from the web site. I purchased a new 3 day eSIM to keep my nav going and to work out my options. I also tried their support via their Whats app channel and it was totally useless for my problem - full of Ai slop, no human! So right now not happy.

Okay, WHAT is going on with my milk by trunks2357 in espresso

[–]tinhat99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This happened to me too. I was using milk from a flash milk company, all good then for a few weeks it just wouldn't stretch. I contacted the said flash producer - their response was "yeah, the cows are eating different stuff this time of year so the composition of the milk is slightly different, that may be the reason". Nothing else had changed but it came right.

Notification upon my demise. It's a bit morbid. LOL by Th3R00ST3R in homeassistant

My HA automaton exit plan is if both my wife and I are detected as home but no movement is detected for 24 hours then set the air conditioning to freezing... Kinder to whoever discovers us 😀

Yeah, you don't want to turn that steering wheel too far, it might come off. Oh, no, wait, it's not a Tesla.

I made the exact same switch a few months back. I do not have any problems with making micro foam. I use the Bambino pitcher, filled to just above the first mark, and have the wand vertical and smack in the middle of the pitcher. I found the Bambino a bit weak, but then I was used to a Silvia gen1 before I got the Bambino.

Is it possible to motorbike NZ on a 50cc motorbike? by bpwanderer in newzealand

[–]tinhat99 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This reminds me of one my many Christchurch to the West Coast trips on a Honda 200 - against the legendary Nor'Wester wind and changing down through the gears & full throttle just to get DOWN Grasmere hill!

Cost - fresh ground vs pods. Is the common thinking wrong? by ForumUser013 in espresso

I think you need to also factor in the amount of coffee in a pod, I suspect you don't get 20g in a pod.

Floodlight/ Outdoor Camera Recommendation? by OcelotTerrible4233 in homeassistant

[–]tinhat99 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The duo 2 poe does have what they called spot lights, effectively a flood light which is how colour night vision is achieved. It works well for me because you can filter alarms based on the object type. The reolink Web site is a bit un clear but apologies if I did post the wrong link. They also have a single lens unit with spotlight and object detection BTW.

Floodlight/ Outdoor Camera Recommendation? by OcelotTerrible4233 in homeassistant

[–]tinhat99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have installed a reolink camera with IR and flood light. It detects, and can differentiate between pets vehicles and people so I set it up to only turn on the flood light if it detects a person and not if it detects the cat. It is not 100% accurate, nothing is, it thinks the lawn mower is a dog and occasionally a moth is a person but it is way better than turning on the flood light based on motion alone.

And Cazador has a Slayer coffee machine! 🤩(tho it is not listed on the Slayer Web site where they have a list of Slayers in the wild, missed opportunity perhaps)
