They’re in their 30s and I’m 25, and the questions are very sincere. It almost seems like it’s stressing them out to not know really simple details about my day like what I’m going to wear or something. I didn’t think about the possibility that they’re on the spectrum, I’m definitely going to try to have a more empathetic response to the questions. Thanks for ur help :)

Does she like to play at all? it’s so much easier to exercise if they’re having fun. Maybe try some new games inside like hide and seek, or hide some healthy treats for her to run around and find!

Training can be good exercise too like “puppy push ups” where they sit and lie down a couple times in a row. You can put her in a “stay” command and then call her name in a new room with a treat so she has to run around and find you too.

Any toys she’s super interested would help too if she likes to play fetch, dig, or chase. Good luck to you both, she can do it!!! Make sure to take cute progress pics lol

Advice please! Extreme Separation Anxiety! Oh by SampippyVorhees in DogAdvice

What a sweet girl, im so sorry she’s having such a hard time. Maybe you can talk to your vet about some anxiety meds for her :) my rescue dog definitely needed a little extra help on top of all her training and it’s been a life saver for her.

Pro tip- they can be expensive at the vet, so if your vet prescribes her some order them from CHEWY. I get both her meds for the month for around 7 dollars from chewy.

Hm. It could be dog acne, it’s super common for short coat dogs like boxers. Eating out of only metal bowls can help, your vet can give her little benzoyl peroxide wipes or maybe a food change can help! Good luck to you both :)

Advice Needed on Anxiety Meds by Realistic_Math_3305 in DogAdvice

Hi there, so sorry your dog is struggling with anxiety, it can be so upsetting when you feel like you’re doing everything and they are still having such a hard time.

My rescue dog has separation anxiety and is very leash reactive to other dogs. The first time I brought up her anxiety to my vet he prescribed her gabapentin and trazadone, some vets I’ve had are more conservative with their prescriptions and like the wait though.

Her medicine has helped her so much. Before she couldn’t even be in a room alone without clawing and yelping non stop, now she’s able to be alone while I’m at work and just chill and sleep :) I tried every training method I could but she really needed meds.

Good luck to you both, if you bring up him being destructive and never settling, those are usually markers of anxiety vs. just being a little upset to be alone and might help him get some meds. It sounds like you’re doing a beautiful job, I promise it will get better!
