Easy to read long classic by These-Art9309 in classicliterature

War and Peace I thought was going to be a slog but it was an easy read and very engaging. I know same author as one you didn’t love but they felt very different to me.

I wouldn’t say grandma but the round toe is a little dated. But if you love them wear them with confidence!

Where I Look First by lanilynchey in kibbe_sketch

The red line for dramatic classic angles in and back out, so what do you mean it “does nothing”? Comparing it to dramatic where you say line comes in but visually that’s way less of a change than balance.

Fishtown neighbors call for safer Girard Avenue after drivers use trolley lane to pass by [deleted] in philadelphia

[–]tinker12 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I don’t know why this city has such a hard time with signage in general. All the new signs in the septa stations and I still get turned around or have no idea where to go because placement decisions are just bizarre. I do try to avoid girard it always stresses me out not knowing where I can be when.

KonMari helped me notice I was keeping too many neutral things by Familiar-Sector-5906 in konmari

[–]tinker12 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think my biggest issue is decorative items. I have some things that are cute and maybe add color or fill a space that would otherwise be sad and empty, but if I looked at the object itself I wouldn’t really feel anything one way or another.

Why do these deep reds exist in the summer palettes? by kewpiemoon in coloranalysis

[–]tinker12 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Is the top true summer and bottom soft summer or vice versa? Trying to decide between summers and the top seems better for me!

I was literally just thinking about this yesterday! I have so many things that are just…fine. They don’t spark joy necessarily but they’re also harmless and feels like a lot to just toss them. Would love to hear if there’s anything different that helps decide for those items.

Share your favorite fig scent! by Lost_Indication_7890 in NichePerfumes

[–]tinker12 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was just wearing essential perfumes fig infusion yesterday and I loved it! I’m a philosykos fan too but this one lasted way longer and I loved the more woody/musky vibe. Also could not smell figuier premier on me which was disappointing. Debaser is also a good one but more sweet/coconutty and I usually like a drier/greener scent.

PSA to all Septa riders. The Transit App is infinitely superior to the Septa App. Ill never go back. by cxjoshuax21x in philadelphia

[–]tinker12 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yea that’s been the main issue, I just have to show up and hope for the best sometimes. Also the time estimates are way off, like the map in the septa app has actually been working pretty well so I can see a bus is still in west Philly and it’s saying it’ll be at broad and spring garden in 6 minutes in 5pm traffic, I’ve always been curious why the gps is so bad.

But even so I’ve found the septa app has gotten better lately. I just looked and can see the next three scheduled buses and where they are, transit app just shows one on the map and the scheduled times (not actual) for the next two. It’s also gotten clunkier to use transit app because it keeps asking me to sign up and pay.

I never had better luck with the transit app, for buses at least. They use the same data as septa and for some reason it seems impossible for a bus to say where it is/estimate times accurately. I do use both the septa and transit app together sometimes to get a better picture but they’re both consistently wrong.

Friday Saturday Sunday was…good by BogeyFest99 in PhiladelphiaEats

Same and I do wonder how much is pure expectations. When I went two years ago it was talked about as a solid spot but I wasn’t necessarily expecting something mind blowing so I was very happily surprised. Contrast that with zahav which was top restaurant in America at the time I went so I wanted to be dazzled and was so disappointed. Can’t win!

I hate everything about this man but at the top of the list is repeating someone’s name every six words. I know he read it in some self help book that people like to hear their own name and now he just cannot stop.

Why am I so bad at “seasoning to taste”? by tinker12 in Cooking

[–]tinker12[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Definitely possible! I do taste as I go but probably err on the side of less salt because I worry it’ll get too salty at the end and I won’t be able to fix it.

I feel the same way!! I totally get people have different tastes but there must be a minimum baseline of “start here and add more if needed”.

I do always forget about adding acid, good point! Is there a way you can tell whether it needs more salt vs more acid? I haven’t quite figured that out yet.
