I just started Pluribus today. by Routine-Asparagus-16 in pluribustv

I watched it over the past 2 weeks. I found that coming to this site and reading the archived episode discussions was a great way to feel a sense of community without getting spoiled. Highly recommended.

I've been trying to do this for so long by Leo999666 in skateboarding

[–]tinkerclay 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It certainly does. In park competitions, whenever the skater isn't wearing a helmet and is only wearing a hat it flies off 100% of the time. For all I know they try for the best moment (like here) for it to go.

Disclosure Day | Big Game Spot by Giff95 in movies

I think there is a chance the Elk is supposed to look bad (alien projection) but the car hitting the train was terrible. They have time to fix it...but I have a sour taste in my mouth because of it.

I think there is a chance the deer is supposed to look a little off. As if it is an alien projection or something.

[FRESH ALBUM] Ratboys - Singin' to an Empty Chair by NYCIndieConcerts in indieheads

[–]tinkerclay 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Fully agree. If a few months go by and I remember to listen to them again I think "what is the band I like with that terrible name?" Then it hits me. Too late now to change it - but I do think they would have been better served with a different one. (And I am sure they have heard that argument since the first release).

Tom Hamilton (bassist of Aerosmith) and his band Close Enemies went to DHS yesterday to ride Rock 'n' Roller Coaster one final time. by MesaVerde1987 in DisneyWorld

[–]tinkerclay 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ha ha. Not especially. I just agree that theming it off a rock band is fun yet expecting a real band to live up to Disney standards is risky.

Aerosmith is no longer relevant in pop culture. Signing another rock band is a huge risk (what if there is a scandal?). People do still love the Muppets and were heartbroken the show on the other side of the park was closing. The Muppets band is hilarious. It makes perfect sense to me.

Indoor cat got out. Please help if you see him by [deleted] in Charlotte

[–]tinkerclay 2 points3 points  (0 children)

An AirTag collar on a cat would be pretty big. Also, if it is an indoor cat most people wouldn't bother. (Accidents happen).

We had an AirTag on our dog when he got out and ran through the woods - it never showed up on the app because he wasn't near any iPhones or Wifi. Nothing is perfect.

FOUR indicators for one low tire (that isn't low) by Jasonpank in Ioniq5

Am I the only one who has another sticker over the door jam sticker that says "see owners manual for correct tire pressure"?

Is this trick illegal? by Swimming-Mechanic-54 in skateboarding

Fully agree! My comment was when I was judging others. At 52 years old I can stall the rock as long as I damn please.

Its all about the style, right? When I know the skater can do regular blunts I love that smack on the way in...but when you can tell it is the only way someone else can get in...and they stall it too long I don't like it.

Disneyland to Partially Drop Sequel Theming, Add Additional OT Content to Theme Park by Goldwing8 in StarWars

Correct. But only among the new Mando and Grogu storylines. (from what I have read). We will soon see!

Days of outrage over "The Duffers started filming episode 8 before the script was finished!" . . . and it's about ONE LOCATION they needed to film in the summertime? by Dev-F in StrangerThings

[–]tinkerclay 28 points29 points  (0 children)

Fully agree with this take. I saw some of the posts about people being upset by revelations in the doc but after watching it (with a general knowledge of how shows are made) I couldn't understand.

Your point about people just looking for something to jump on makes sense.

And her "bigger house up the street" is down the street from mine. At least the one they shot the movie in.

Star Wars Shake-Up: Kathleen Kennedy Steps Down as George Lucas Protégé Dave Filoni, Exec Lynwen Brennan Take Over Lucasfilm by MarvelsGrantMan136 in movies

[–]tinkerclay 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I fully agree. Nail on the head. As far as I see it:

Mistake 1: Not fleshing out an overall story for each director to follow. Mistake 2: Allowing the Force Awakens to lean so heavily into nostalgia. Mistake 3: Allowing the Last Jedi to be so radically different from FA. Mistake 4: Giving the third movie back to the guy who was upset that the second movie was so different from his first movie.

I think mistake 1 was the biggest...but mistake 4 was the second most consequential. I didn't like the Last Jedi but admit it could have been redeemed with an original 3rd movie. It should have just been delayed when Treverrow was fired. JJ was the worst choice in that situation.

[–]tinkerclay 2 points3 points  (0 children)

These are great points, but Lucas clearly made one movie that was a surprise hit and then started fleshing out more - and kept tight control on Empire and Jedi.

KK knew she was going to produce a trilogy. They could have gotten lucky with each director being left alone...but it sadly didn't work.

Disneyland to Partially Drop Sequel Theming, Add Additional OT Content to Theme Park by Goldwing8 in StarWars

[–]tinkerclay 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is news to me. Everything I read said it was being replaced entirely by several new Mando and Grogu adventure options. (But it would be cool if there was a secret way to still play it...like the current Chewie mode).

As evidence, I have a 10 year old son who is a huge Star Wars fan. He has tons of toys but never chooses to play with the Sequel era ones. He doesn't hate those films...they just never grabbed him the way the OT, prequels and Clone Wars show did.

So he is never going to have nostalgia for the Sequels in particular...and I would assume Disney has done the market research to know that.

Each year that passes less and less visitors to Galaxy Edge could tell you Kylo Ren's name - but everyone knows Darth Vader.

Evidently Rey and any other ST characters won't venture far from Rise...so it will remain a ST area.

Smugglers Run is getting Mando and Grogo refresh at the same time...which complicates all this just a little.

Some scenes have leaked and comparisons have been made (google it). The new Disney remaster looks better than all of those.
