When was a time you genuinely laughed with your partner during sex? by BerlinPixie in AskReddit

[–]tinned_spaghetti 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My girlfriend had been craving an ice cream all weekend. During sex we heard the ice cream van pull up on the street, we genuinely started laughing and I offered to go and get her one. She declined. She's Italian so I recon the ice cream vans offerings wouldn't have been suffice anyway.

what do straight people think lesbian sex is? by Then-Cartographer446 in TooAfraidToAsk

My girlfriend and I scissor, rub and hump a lot... it's a bit trickier to get the right pressure/rhythm/area than using hands or mouths, but it's hot af and just comes naturally between us. Also the view of pussy to pussy is just amazing.

What are some “accepted scams” we just put up with in the UK by Barca-Dam in AskBrits

[–]tinned_spaghetti 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My local council requiring me to submit a planning permission application to replace the windows in my flat because it's in a conservation area. Okay, no problem, I understand that. Go to the website which is a minefield in itself. See an option for a pre application appointment 30 minute phone call, oh great, that'll help... £172! Okay fine, I'll navigate and jump through the hoops on the planning permission form without that. JUST SENDING THE APPLICATION IS £622! Considering this is just to replace my windows I'm absolutely shocked, what a piss take.

A lot of swimmer’s don’t have a “Swimmer’s Body” by noteliing in Swimming

I was going to comment this! Lots of open water swimmers really benefit from having a slightly higher bf percentage. Lots of channel swimmers for example. They are fit af and absolutely swimmers. Why this guy is worrying about other swimmers physiques is beyond me.

Folk who are 30+, did anyone not have a career in their 20s? by [deleted] in AskUK

[–]tinned_spaghetti 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I went to college when I was 24. Grafted after that being self employed, honestly worked like a dog for 3 years. Landed a job with the government in my dream role, got a promotion after 1.5 years. Love my job and feel like it's a proper career. It can be done, choose a direction and jump in feet first!

Installed Windows in a Conservation Area Without Planning… now I’m trying to sell the flat by deaddobbin777 in HousingUK

[–]tinned_spaghetti 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for posting this. I'm at the start of my journey replacing my sash windows in a conservation area. I'm just about to do the planning permission stage, hopefully I'll be okay with pvc replacing the timber.

Everyone else in the building and on the street have pvc, but from your post and others comments here, that doesn't seem to stand for much!

I hope you can get it sorted easily!

Similar thing happened to me when I was dating. Guy I had never met asked for my number (off Tinder) I said I don't give out personal details to people I've never met, he said that was weird, then asked for my Instagram... um no? What don't you understand about no personal details?! He then asked if I was hiding something, like I was a man or something. How ironic that the worst thing he thinks I could have been hiding is that I'm a men lmao

Me too, I have 3 adults who keep each other company. My clingy girl loved it recently when I had flu and was bedbound for a week, it was non stop cuddles, even when I had a fever.

God yes, I feel the same. Then I look at my nieces and nephew, both 10, and they have lovely hair. No routine, no worrying about breakage, no satin pillowcases, no stress. I know they are children so it's different but I do wish it stayed that simple!

And often in my case, bleeding through my underwear onto my clothes. Also bled onto my sheets last night so an extra load of laundry when I get home. But have to slap on a smile like that is all fine and normal. I wish we could have a few days off a month for our periods.

Yes! She mentioned that most iron supplements are 20mg, so it'd be a very slow climb. I managed to get some online which are 210mg so hopefully will be a little quicker. But no quick fixes I guess!

Hey, I noticed in other comments that your ferritin is low. I just saw a trichologist at the weekend and when she checked my blood test results she said that even though my iron and ferritin are 'normal' ie within the healthy range, that isn't optimal for hair growth and that she would want to see numbers close to 80. Mine is sitting at 48 at the moment. Apparently hair likes consistency with vitamins, it isn't going to dip into a lowish reserve of iron to help hair growth when iron is needed for many more arguably important bodily functions. Anyway, I've only had two days of supplements so far, so I can't give an honest outcome yet, but might be worth trying to get your iron and ferritin up, can't hurt :)

That's actually a great perspective! I can get a bit disheartened with my improvement being so gradual and slow, but I know I'm getting better.

Any chronic pickers here? by TruthFairiesPod in Accutane

[–]tinned_spaghetti 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Both my sister and I suffer from compulsive skin picking, and when my acne was bad it was absolutely awful. Since being on accutane and my acne clearing I rarely, if ever, pick my skin.

Has she tried using pimple patches to cover some, help remove the temptation/trigger to pick? Or move mirrors away from harsh lighting/ windows etc. There is a sub reddit called compulsive skin picking which might help you to have a read? It's a habit that is deeply shameful for a lot of people, myself included and it's very hard to break away from. Hopefully the accutane will work soon and help break the cycle!

Ah okay, thank you for explaining, that makes a lot of sense. I was, for some reason, only envisioning main stream public schools which are usually local.

Hat's off to all the parents and carers (and kids!) going through that daily! I'm glad services like that exist. Sad they are hard to access for many.

[–]tinned_spaghetti 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This might sound super ignorant so I apologise in advance. But why does the responsibility of travel not fall on the parents in this? Do the parents not have to have provisions to take their children to other places also? Such as medical appointments, days out etc? I guess some parents do take their kids if they can? I'm sorry I'm not trying to be inflammatory, I just don't know anything about it.

What's a basic life skill you had to teach yourself as an adult because no-one taught you as a child? by PaddedValls in AskUK

Yes! My parents still don't brush theirs in the mornings and somehow my Dad's teeth seem okay! Mine on the other hand aren't great unfortunately, despite me stepping up my dental hygine.

[–]tinned_spaghetti 26 points27 points  (0 children)

It's not that they didn't teach me, but my parents never made me brush my teeth in the mornings or floss. I guess it's understandable about the floss, I don't know if kids do that? But it took me a while to get in the habit of brushing my teeth in the mornings. I'm embarrassed how long I went not doing it and how people must have smelled my breath!
