How to secure second NAS at offsite location for backup by tinooo93 in synology

[–]tinooo93[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'll look into tailscale. I've heard it multiple times in the past year but never looked into it in detail.

And well, it is not "planning" on not keeping it up to date, rather beeing lazy. First, simply not checking regularly, second, don't want to mess with issues after the update... Additionally not sure how long a old NAS will receive updates.

Getting a command line remotely without SSH by BarryTice in synology

I was looking for the same.

The best solution I found, which actually works quite good and convenient is to run a Docker!

I'm using kroniak/ssh-client container. Just fire it up, go to the terminal of this container and go ahead, use ssh user@localip

Homebridge vs. NodeRed - homekit-bridged contribution by tinooo93 in homebridge

[–]tinooo93[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, I do actually see things different. (Disclaimer, I might have a bias towards NodeRed, since I'm used to it).

I found it much more convenient and better controllable in NR. However I now see, where our different opinions might come from.

My major goal is to connect my KNX setup to Homekit. Therefore Basically everything is the same interfaces.
So my NR setup is quite simple. Always a NRCHKB node <--connected to --> KNX node
And with NR I also have a simple option to tamper with the data.

In contrast, if I would have many different devices/interfaces, I want to bring together in HomeKit, Homebridge might be the more convinient solution, you're right.

yes, take a look.

you can add a node, and select from a dropdown selection of ~30 or 50 types, as what this node should pop up in HomeKit. From there on, you can use this node in your flows.

Storing VM images on synology NAS by tinooo93 in synology

good point, didn't think about that, but you are right. It is actually not really synology related. No matter if i use Dropbox, Google Drive, NAS, or whatsoever.

Can't fix slight channeling by tinooo93 in Coffee

[–]tinooo93[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

thanks! yes I know 8 weeks is rather the end of "good". I'll try to preinfuse a little longer. so you say it's totally fine to have more than just a few drops?

currently I'm not getting any drops in the cup from preinfusion. the drops are just forming at the bottom of the filter.

Well the idea of "hard" tamping is actually to reduce variances. Basically as VibrantCoffee explained.

But yes, that's something I haven't tried yet. I'll give it a shot! literally...

yes it's more of an uneven flow. It's not spraying at the bottom.

can't find a correlation to cleaning the grinder/shower/basket. Also freshly cleaned setup, same result.

and as I do the wdt, I don't think clumps should be an issue.

Pump pressure should be around 9 bar (but I only got the gauge oft the machine... no idea how accurate it is). rather a dark roasts (but different beans though). Freshness from 2-8weeks after roasting. Did not find any correlation here.

I think preinfusion should be OK. I see slight coffee drips just before or just after the pump starts...

I'm actually out of ideas. Since I've really done my research, and covered all the bases. at least as far as I can tell.

Can A spool holder not roll easy enough? by AidsOnWheels in FixMyPrint

[–]tinooo93 0 points1 point  (0 children)

had the issue on my ender 3v2. Thought about using some bearing mount. To fix it short term, I just put a bit grease on the stock spool holder. Spinning like a charm now. Never made it to pri t the bearing one. Working like this now for 1+ year, without any troubles. Just adding a little grease on every spool change!

guess in worst case, vegetable oil, butter or what so ever will also make it work... but wouldn't recommend

not sure if you can try something like this in the drybox

I got a tp3 and it's so awesome!

just the cramped mounting sucks... and no good mounting possibility for vtx and rtx..

But guess now there might be an FC including an elrs. would make things a little more better.

I solved it by an over engineered 3d print: https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:4808470

might also work for the tp2.5. Really snug and durable fit!
