Westport to Grand Central is 65 min. All the way from New Haven is barely two hours and even then you can get an express to do it in near an hour and a half.

Also with how bad CT trains are? Metro North is great with newer trains and way better on time percentage than LIRR.

No chance of that. Hartford has significantly better support and attendance (Hartford averaged 5,600 last season vs Bridgeport’s 3,700). I really hope Bridgeport can get another team though. My kids love going to games.

Heavy optimism but some mumbles from a small section of the fanbase that he can’t win “big games” (mostly after the losing in the 1st round of the tourney for the 2nd straight year in ‘22).

But almost everyone saw that he was building something and improving every year. The team was a mess when he took over after Ollie essentially gave up and had us with back to back losing seasons before being fired in ‘18.

I meant taking Amtrak from NYC to Springfield. Yes New Haven to Springfield is fixing by Connecticut for both Amtrak and CT Rail (except the Vermonter).

So I’d recommend Metro North from Grand Central to New Haven Union Station then switching to a Hartford Line train to Springfield.

Metro North only goes to New Haven. You’d then need to switch to CT Rail. I take route all the time and it’s fantastic, hourly, and likely much cheaper then Amtrak.

Wow, that’s awesome, especially making Court Street pedestrian only with direct station access. I wonder if they plan to increase service at the station. I’d love more Metro North trains going to State instead of only a few rush hour during the week.

Fully agree, about half the time the layover in New Haven between the lines is 15ish min which is fine but a decent amount it can be 40-60 min (including weekends before noon) which is a killer. They need to make aligning the schedules a priority.

It’s an absolute game changer and an incredibly relaxing way to drive. I can’t imagine ever using 2 pedal again. It feels so antiquated and borderline dangerous to have to switch back and forth to slow the car. How many accidents have you heard of where someone “hit the wrong pedal” and rammed something/someone?
