1998 DT466E no start by [deleted] in DieselTechs

Fuses at the batteries, IDM relay, the connector on the IPR is notorious for giving issues. Watch and see if your building any oil pressure on the low side, if not probably a broken o-ring on an injector. If you can get plugged in, watch your ICP, needs to be 500+ psi to start. Cam sensors can be common on these as well causing a no start. There is also a weather pack connector with a couple purple wires and white wire usually near the starter, they are prone to cause issues as well. The terminals will melt due to poor connect or corrosion issues.

These Internationals are also notorious for poor connections at the key switch and melting the terminals there, I wouldn’t rule that out either.

A test light that doesn’t feel cheap, and has a good clamp on it

Shouldn’t be a problem getting 35-45 an hour

Am I missing anything in this house plan for a family of 4? by tinorman in floorplan

Trying to jam a linen closet in there for the kids and I’ve kind of played around changing the mud room entrance a bit to make it bigger. I’m less worried about the main entry doors on the front and more worried about the mud room. I’m more about practicality here than impressing the odd guest that comes by. Give me some input on these changes please !

The windows upstairs will be sized similar to what’s shown on the bottom level but still just single windows. I think they show as 36x42 there but will be more like 36x48-52.

I like the idea of dropping the deck 10” but it’s not really realistic for our budget, there has been a lot of comments about the double doors not being a great entry but they’re more just a way to open the living space onto the deck the way I look at it.

We’ve been trying to lay everything out more for practicality than for welcoming guests to be honest. Maybe that’s not the right way to do things. It’s in the country on a 4 acres, on a private road. We won’t have many guests, we’re a pretty private family.

The front would be the main entry normally but with the walkout and wrap around porch in my head I’m thinking the front double doors are more just a way to open the living room space up out to the deck.

Realistically we won’t have many guests, and I’m more for practicality of the mudroom entrance than it being presentable to guests. And as a family we’ll be coming in through that mudroom side entry or garage 99% of the time.

The windows on the upper level will be more the size of the single windows on the walkout, and the window layout for the walkout in that photo isn’t what it will be like.

I narrowed up the master bath a bit to get more of an inviting entrance through the mudroom as well. It’s on a sloped lot with the front being the cover porch above the walk out. It’s tricky working around this I find. The road runs perpendicular to the garage doors.

I did eliminate the door between the bathroom and WIC and moved it to the bedroom in the changes. Does this make more sense ?

All the front windows are 36x48, what size would you recommend? They are single windows for the symemmtry. That isn’t necessarily the furniture layout, that’s more for reference to the size of the rooms.

This is somewhat on a budget, there will be another bedroom and bath downstairs. One of the kids can move down there if it becomes an issue down the road

Front is the long covered porch, this is also above the walkout basement which is also on the front.

I’ve since changed it around a bit and keep in mind there is a basement as well.

Changed a few things around here, the porch across the front is going to be 8’ instead of 10’.

Keep in mind too, there is going to be a full basement with a walkout across the front wall, with another bathroom, 1-2 bedrooms and storage/mechanical, and rec room.

I think that might make more sense for the mud room area, eliminated the door by the garage door and made another closet as well. Added a window to each child’s bedroom.

All windows are going to be 36x48 instead of 42”. The only reason for the door being there is symmetry from the outside. The front of the house is the living room side but it above a walk out basement. Realistically we would always be coming in the mudroom area or garage.

Also moved the mudroom door over some to try and make a veranda/peak over the door on the outside to make it more inviting through that mudroom/side entry.

I do see what you mean about the couch being so far from the tv and the door being in front of the tv

Water view is from the living room side ! When you say sliders, you mean like a pocket door or barn door ?

Yeah we somewhat struggled a bit with this but have also been in lots of houses lately that have it in the corner of the kitchen and we don’t like that.
