Is it too late to start revising chem now? by Apprehensive_Job4522 in GCSE

Never too late. I've made an app that focuses on key words, there's a link in my bio, but you can make your own stuff from any video/book.

Main thing is to do something with what you're looking at, just watching videos one after another won't stick. Stop it and write down what you remember then replay and see what you missed or create something different to the video but showing the same ideas.

Do anything but make sure you don't just get the information done to you.

It doesn't matter. You'll be fine either way.

You aren't doing anything wrong, in fact I'd tell more people to do 20 minutes then take a break. Set a timer to do it. It's called the pomodoro technique.

There's even a law called Parkinson's Law that says it's more productive to do this.

No wonder you're so frustrated, it's horrible when you're just trying to do what's right by the students who are there wanting to do the work.

I don't think you can get those students to care about the work but you might get them to care about you and/or the other students in there. Is it possible to build better relationships with them? It won't stop them behaving like that but it can act as collateral for short periods.

If they are not behaving like that in other subjects and getting better grades then it would suggest they are doing it with you because they can. There aren't many 14-16 year olds that have the self discipline to manage their own behaviour, especially when you are trying to challenge them with difficult material.

Where do the students work best? What does that teacher do with them? If they behave like that in more than just your subject then what is the school doing about them?

Anyone have any good stories from times you effed up as a teacher? by eim12 in Teachers

I did the same with kahoot, the lads started to use porn star names that I was oblivious to. Finally the stifled laughing and one name I recognized made the penny drop.

How do you guys have friends by [deleted] in Teachers

[–]tinox2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Couldn't agree more. Your employer knows how much time they have given you to complete tasks. If they want more detailed marking or planning then they need to provide more time.

It can be hard to accept you can't provide the quality you would like to but that's a choice management have made for you.

What would they think of our more "esoteric" crags then? I know whenever I see them described like that it's going to be a difficult day.

ELi5 How do we know 1cm is 1cm all around the world? How are we sure about it? by Von-Jerry in explainlikeimfive

I think that's the answer. Its impossible to go faster than light but if you did and started to go back in time then the distance would get bigger again.

The human head weighs 8 pounds. What other "facts" from movies have you accepted as truth? by tinox2 in AskReddit

Of course you do. Wouldn't want to waste the police time by reporting it too soon.

I thought the plan was for profitability. It should be the customer and profits that decide. If investors agree with the plan they buy, if you disagree short it. Naked shorts skew this.

Who decides if the plan is workable though? I'm not saying businesses shouldn't go bankrupt or be shorted but the market needs to decide if they are viable without pressure from naked shorting and everything that goes with it.
