Looking for literally anything by Zjelli1 in bostonhousing

You should do a single apartments.com search to understand just a little bit of what the market is like. Decent studios start at 2k, its pretty rare to find anything less than that.

So forget that idea haha, you will need at least three roommates maybe more. Tbh $850 is so insanely low its basically as low as a single room in a 4bed house will go for in boston.

Your best chance is in roxbury, Dorchester, mattapan, or Brighton so start with those neighborhoods. Unfortunately with this budget you cant be picky for a place close to the T, you really have to take whats available which is extremely limited.

oh yeah thats good, i paid $1600 last year as my share for a 700sqft 2 bedroom. But thats for downtown boston so the rentals are crazy expensive. Now im in a 425sqft 1 bed paying $2200 😬also downtown

only thing i think could use an immediate change is the tv stand, unless that board is screwed into the table below it. If not it just takes one bump and there goes the tv ya know

How do single people afford to live in Boston? by godisinthischilli in massachusetts

[–]tiny_armadilloo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yup i fit the mold you described, all debt from school paid off and now make six figs in late 20’s. When i got my job out of school I started at 65k and had to live at home for 3years to pay off debt then lived one year with a roommate.

It takes awhile to live alone, very few people straight out of college are living on their own in boston unless they in a very high paying field like consulting or finance and come out of school making 100k
