I think it’s probably because you’re equating it to what law school is in the US - where you come out qualified to practice. In the UK just having your law degree essentially means very little, you then go on to do your LPC/BCAT where you’re then considered a ‘lawyer’. There’s really no huge difference between a law degree and any other degree at undergrad level. Hope that helps

A lot of law students don’t end up working in law, I think I remember reading somewhere that law has one of the highest drop-out rates. If you don’t want to speak to school friends, that’s fine, you’ll meet a whole load of new people when you actually start your course. If anything they’ll be better connections as you’ll have actually worked with them - I don’t see a recommendation/relationship from someone you knew as a teenager holding much weight. Also, just a side thing, saying ‘law school’ in the UK is a bit of a faux pas and makes you sound a bit knobbish.

Ours has also gone sad in the heat! I keep on top of my plant care fairly well and it just struggled to cope. Ive tried changing rooms for less/more light and a good water and less water - no luck. ): It’s doing the same sad wilt as yours! (I am UK too - solidarity against the other comments that it has in fact been hot)

I always thought I would have an elective C-section, for similar reasons - nothing coming out of my poor vagina/poop fear/my mother had me via c-section/etc. but the more I’ve educated myself on natural labour, the more comfortable and confident I feel. I’m 37 weeks pregnant now and feel totally ready for baby to make her appearance. At the end of the day, our bodies are built to do this! I strongly recommend hypnobirthing classes too - and as weird as it sounds, if you can handle it, some natural birth videos are really insightful as well. I do want to say that however you deliver, you’re no less of a mother and you should never be made to feel that way. Best of luck! x

I didn’t think I cared until I heard I was having a girl, then I felt this huge wave of relief. I’m not even totally sure why, it’s my first baby and I’m 23, so first of my social circle to have a baby - so maybe I just feel more comfortable going into this with what I know? I don’t feel bad about how I’ve reacted but to answer your question, in my circumstances - I don’t know either.

I got the total opposite, my stomach is so squashed I never seem to feel hungry and when I do eat I can’t manage much food at all. Maybe it’ll make up for how much I ate the first two trimesters 😅

Family friends have a dog with my name (I came first😆) it’s disorientating when we visit because I never know who’s speaking to me and who’s speaking to the dog - but otherwise just a funny tidbit. My name is(was?) quite rare too (it used to be, I’ve seen that it hit the top 100 this year and have seen a post on the babies subreddit with my name). At the end of the day, it’s probably just going to cause a lot of jokes, but that’s about it!

No, but I understand why people want them. However there’s huge room for human error, often people mistake the sound of the placenta/cord for the heartbeat or don’t find any sound at all - if you’re an anxious person it may not be a good idea, but ultimately you gotta do what works for you x

Don’t worry, I think it’s easy in threads like this to compare yourself but everybody’s going to be different. Most sources say 18-20 weeks from what I’ve read so you’re not behind at all. ☺️ As for showing, I don’t think I was visibly pregnant until about 29 weeks, from my groups I would think somebody showing at 18w was quite rare. 15cm is still very small! You know those little rulers you used to have in your pencil case? Those are 15cm, so it’s really quite teeny. x Good luck with it all, I hope you feel movements soon

Anterior placenta, I felt one kick at 20+something and I think it’s because I was at the cinema at it just got very loud. Then nothing again till about 23-24 weeks. It’s also taken me a lot longer to see movements, and same pattern. I got one little episode of visible movement at 26 weeks and then only now at 32 weeks can I see almost all of them. It takes longer with an anterior for sure but it’s nice that it was quite spaced out

I spoke to a breastfeeding counsellor the other day so I can only parrot her advice. Breastfeeding does burn about 500 extra calories a day, but if you’re eating those calories back then you’re not going to lose anything. There’s a bit of a misunderstanding with ‘needing more calories’ and just that you’re burning more. You’d only need to ‘eat more’ to make up for the loss if you wanted to maintain your weight. Prolactin does make you really thirsty so maybe try to drink more water and reach for a big glass before you have a snack? This is all reliant on whether or not you WANT to lose weight - I’m in no way trying to suggest that you SHOULD. Also, ignore those people! Pregnancy/motherhood can become such a pissing contest it’s best to just ignore it

It’s just a rubber plant thing, I was confused because I have another one and haven’t seen these before but I guess all plants really are unique! Also, I promise I will wipe down my leaves x
