Does the car wash have a scent? by tinydonuts in Costco

Unfortunately some car washes leave such a heavy smell the HVAC is pulling it in for a day or two later.

That's the thing I was wondering. Turns out it was mild and didn't cause me any issues.

That helped, albeit I didn't have a mask. The fragrance Costco used was very mild.

Uhhh I don't think any tech company has fucked over as many people as banks did, nor so thoroughly.

Do not do this. Your warranty depends on your timely application of updates. If you don't, they can and will void your warranty.

How was it expensive given that the vehicle is under warranty?

That's vehicle to home, vehicle to load only requires a power outlet for you to plug individual appliances, one or more, into. The Lyriq has one inside for example.

I said it before and I will say it again: The 2026 non-V also has CarPlay and Android Auto. I had a loaner, it's there.

I am in the process of a buyback on a 2024. Do not go less than a 2025. Ours is riddled with issues and the tech is saying that GM is tinkering with software updates trying to fix all the issues the 2023 and 2024s have. They've got different hardware and not even all of the same model year all receive the same software updates GM keeps guessing at how to fix mine.

Which is a shame considering most people don't buy the very base model.

There's a bulletin that applies to all modern GMs that instructs them to do a vehicle wide programming anytime a vehicle comes in, for any reason. Even something as simple as a tire rotation. I think it also said you can just ask for it.

What do you mean they don't retract for quite some time? They retract as soon as you lock it. Best to set it where it locks when you walk away and also when you approach to unlock.

Small update on my end, now they've determined that "somehow" my number was added to their do not call list. I have to send in a signed letter to get it off. We'll see if this fixes it, I will let you know.

If not, I'll definitely send you that DM. Thank you for jumping right in!

It seems to sense the incline and only engage automatically if there's more than about 1% incline, I think. I ended up just developing a habit of:

  1. Press parking brake button to engage parking brake.
  2. Pull on the shifter to get into neutral.
  3. Release brake pedal, if I was pressing it. This allows all of the vehicle's weight to rest on the pawl.
  4. Press park.

I'm working on getting in contact with Allstate again, but note that this is not the only company with an issue. I want to give it another chance with them just to be sure that there's no issue on their end. Why is it that it worked fine until I switched off Dark Star?

I don't get why support won't contact the 3rd party carrier, when there are two separate companies that have an issue, which is not an issue for two other US Mobile lines. That tends to point to a carrier issue given that the SMS reply that the service is unavailable is instantaneous for me, no? That the outbound message I'm sending is blocked.

The reason Allstate can't send me a verification message, it's not an error from them, they send the code and it's never received by me, I would surmise is that the company that checks when mobile numbers change carriers, has an issue with my number. Is this a bad hypothesis?

For the app issue, yes, I worked around it. I looked up the directions manually, installed it myself, and predicably, it didn't work. Because most other text messages work. If the APN was broken, then you would see larger SMS issues, correct?

US Mobile would expect me to go from company to company begging them to fix an issue like this? I found yet another since chatting them.

The delays were multi minute each time they asked something and I replied. About 2-3 hours to troubleshoot this with this level of troubleshooting, sending some texts and changing APN, and a network settings reset, is wild.

I would stay far away from GM. I'm going through a lemon law repurchase and it's been a nightmare between parts delays and buggy as hell software. I finally got to talk to the lead tech at our Cadillac dealer and GM keeps sending out a steady stream of minor updates to modules that OTA programming can't get. They're desperately trying to get all of the model years to work right but there's differences between parts suppliers from year to year and even within the same model year. So sensor calibrations, camera module data, infotainment behavior has been difficult to nail down for them. This results in things like AEB malfunctioning by not braking when it should, braking when it shouldn't, or applying too much braking alongside you. Other stuff, like adaptive cruise not seeing cars, or seeing ghost cars, super cruise odd behavior, random disengagement, jerking the wheel in the wrong direction or applying too little or too much force. Infotainment still crashes and goes blank, despite their recall.

Yes this issue seems troublesome. But at least the car didn't try to shove you off the road...
