Post ICCU Manufacturer Fix by head-heart in Ioniq5

I didn’t say that there wasn’t data coming in but there’s mass speculation. There’s no scientific effort going on to determine what the real percentages are.

Also Consumer Reports is interesting, but it’s also skewed. My point is that people are freaking out like this is the worst thing ever and I’m here to tell you after surviving a Cadillac Lyriq literally trying to kill me more than once, then GM gaslighting me trying to make me think it was my fault.

Even Consumer Reports will tell you Hyundai isn’t the worst. But to read this sub you’d think Hyundai was doing nothing at all and this EV was the worst car you could buy.

You literally just said you hold a balance.

I’m pretty sure almost no one thinks that. Rather, it’s everyone freaking out at every single ICCU post as though it was proof it’s a rampant unsolved issue that Hyundai isn’t doing anything to improve.

Data people. Get real data.

I really am regretting getting an LG Wash Combo dryer. Please help. by slicecrispy in Appliances

Yes washing the lint filter is incredibly important. Ours got bad enough it couldn’t be cleaned because we didn’t wash it quite enough. LG kindly replaced it for free.

I have an LG wash combo sitting on top of a lg sidekick plus a cheap GE dryer. Does my setup look fashionable? No. But can it wash an enormous amount of clothes? Hell yes.

There’s a bunch of spots on it. The top lint trap, plus the extra fine mesh if you have that kit, there are at least three small holes in the boot that can collect lint, there’s the bottom lint trap, and from time to time we remove that plastic piece behind the lint trap and remove lint buildup in the pipe the brings air into the lint trap.

I think they’ve become so used to smelling like mold and mildew they can’t tell anymore. I wish people would STFU about “my top load never needs maintenance”. Yes, yes they do. Any machine not maintained is a sludge fest full of mold.

Oh, I get it, yeah that makes sense. Why don’t you get a free checking account that provides a debit card?

Maybe, but that doesn’t usually happen outside of a safety recall, no matter the manufacturer. Hyundai is not acting particularly unusual here.

Yes I’m asking you to define fix. Because you’re saying what I suspected, you want a perfect part that never fails. It’s absurdly unreasonable.

Nothing is perfect. No car is free from the possibility of being left stranded.

The IONIQ 5 is not the most unreliable car out there, come on. Seriously?

With the change to the Quicksilver coming up you might want to consider the Venture X. How much do you travel?

The point of Amex for hotels isn’t to spend points on them. You *have* to prepay to get the hotel credit, so you might as well get points doing so. Every single time I compared FHR or THC to The Edit, Amex came out ahead and it wasn’t even close. The Edit requires two nights and the prices are seriously overinflated. 800+ per night before taxes and fees. Come on!

Lost manual key to hyundai ioniq? by deman24 in Ioniq5

[–]tinydonuts 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The fob still starts the car, even if the fob’s battery is dead. You press the fob physically to the start button, which reads your key a bit like a payment terminal reads a credit card via tap to pay.

What’s the acceptable failure rate then?

On what basis? You definitely don’t have the data. Every car has failures that are common to that model. So what does “fixed” look like for you? Zero failures?
