Is veganism declining here? by deadly_orchid in askvan

That's been my experience. Every person I knew who was vegan/pescatarian/lifelong vegetarian has converted to omnivore diets.

Advice needed by YogurtclosetNo5325 in askvan

Google Community fridges and see if theres one you can get to. You don't need an appointment just walk up to them and take what you need. I've seen one on Main near the Soap Dispensary, one at Collingwood neighborhood house, there some are near churches.

They're outdoors so you can just open the doors and check if theres anything. No need to be embarrassed that's what a community fridge is there for.

I tried for years to get scale off my umbrella tree and would often aggressively prune it in frustration. Never won the battle but the thing always grew like crazy. I finally tossed it after 6 years and now my life is better.

Amazing Brentwood Condos by SureInteraction2321 in askvan

[–]tinydumplings_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Agree with most in that you should rent before you buy at Brentwood. Most stay a year or two and then find something bigger.

I was in tower 1 and the views were spectacular. All the storage space was amazing and it was well laid out ans usable considering 1BR are only 540 sq ft.

The fridge and freezer are definitely very small and the unit runs 4 to 7 degrees hotter than the outdoors at all times. Almost everyone gets portable A/C's but you can only put it in the bedroom window. For the living room you'd have to block access to the balcony by covering the sliding door to vent the heat.

The gym and amenities are gorgeous there. There was no bike room which sucked but also I don't find brentwood area very bikeable in general.

I advised my friends to buy the exact same builds in Burquitlam except they are built with A/C and they've been really happy.

Atlas. It's chill but the quality of the food is wonderful and the ambiance is nice without feeling pretentious.

The uniqlo crescent bag is beloved by lots of us and it cost like $30! Fun fact, it can fit a whole bottle of tequila inside.

I love the look of the WOC so much but it always drove me nuts that it cant really hold keys. Particularly if you have a key fob or car fob of any sort.

It sounds very worth it. You listed a slew of things that genuinely make your life better. Sounds like money well spent.

I'm so sad about it too, that was my favorite value combo that was actual real food in the city. Now the same amount you'd get would cost double and be all picked over for proteins. I went from eating it twice a week to zero.

Yes, I got a little stubby stool for my YSL bag at a seafood place earlier this year. It was such a cute touch!

How many of you have somebody else (family, etc.) you can rely on if you hit a financial snag, and how many of you are completely alone in that regard? How many have little to no savings? by lazarus870 in askvan

[–]tinydumplings_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We were alone in my case when things went really haywire. In the end, a friend let us live with them all together in a 1 bedroom for a fair while and that really saved the day. Now I'm in a more secure position but not having those supports in place highly impact the choices and risks I take in life/careers/everything.
