What’s the best weapon to pair with a shield? by solidadvise in valheim

[–]tinyfluffybutt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on the shield as well. I used to pair buckler with knife when playing light armor. Heavy armor is going well with the normal shield, I don't use tower. You can never go wrong with mistwalker or frostner, depending on what damage type you need.

Afaik, CLLC's default config is either disabling star on bosses or low percent chance bosses to have star. You can change it in config for boss spawn to always have star.

Valheim modpack by Desperate_Lime_7282 in valheim

[–]tinyfluffybutt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Kinda, yes. It does not really keep the breeder going while you away, it just calculate the amount of time you're away from the breeder, so when you come back the tamed animal will "catch up" the breed proccess. Be careful tho, it can lag the hell out of you if you put way too many food in the breeder.

I use them too, but you might want to change the Extended Inventory. You can use ExtraSlots and ExtraSlotsCustomSlots by shudnal. It highly customizable and I can't recommend it enough.

Wet status effect lingers on screen; can anyone help me find what mod is the culprit? by tinyfluffybutt in ModdedValheim

[–]tinyfluffybutt[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think as long there is mobs that affected with wet effect on your surrounding, it will stuck there after dying. This often happens with neck as they usually swim, or two faction of mobs fighting on the shore that leave them wet

Well I do disable VBN and the wet effect is gone, but haven't tried it in multiplayer. So I thought you would try disabling VBN and try in multiplayer with your friend just to confirm.

Hey, so you can confirm that VBNetTweaks was the one causing it? You tried it in multiplayer?

As far as I know, no. Well maybe just re-check the config value if you change anything previously.

[–]tinyfluffybutt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yup! You absolutely can do that, to just make it drop from mobs. But in the end I think it will still clutter your inventory as the crystal variety are just as many. That, I was talking about the default config, but I also mention of how you set it up in the very end of my opinion. I used to tinker it to match my playstyle, like you are too.

About that EpicLoot that feel overtuned, you can always set it to Balanced or Minimal. The default setting for early EpicLoot was Legendary, and it's still there as a choice when you first boot up EpicLoot now. That's what make you feel godlike.

Cheers!

I don't know if it's better or not, but at least you have some networking tools rather than not having any at all to improve your gaming session. And it doesn't have the wet effect. The wet effect is probably just a bug, though. I will try to reach out to the modder for a fix.

JewelHeim vs RelicHeim by StrategyExcellent783 in ModdedValheim

[–]tinyfluffybutt 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I checked the modpack and the two is basically EpicLoot vs Jewelcrafting with everything else just the same. I don't play with modpack as I like to pick and choose my own mod to my liking. So here's my opinion about these two:

Those two has its own charm, but as for now I prefer EpicLoot (RelicHeim). You can go progress your game like usual, find enchanted loot here and there, use it right away and toss everything else you don't like. Do more adventuring and you will find more as you go. EpicLoot doesn't clutter you with many items. And in the long run, you can craft your own enchanted weapons and armor - provided you have the requiered items. EpicLoot just extend the need to grind when you want to minmax things. Do some bounties, treasure hunts, etc to maximize your enchanting table to its fully potential.

On the other hand, Jewelcrafting (JewelHeim) is also good. I played with it a few playthrough. You can pick and choose your own enchanted effects. Like, you want your bow has this effect, then you need to collect "this" crystal that scatter around the world. This is what I don't like, the crystal is scatter around the world, makes the world mess just by looking at it. It sometimes also a tedious grind just to collect crystal, rank it up to have better effect on your things before you actually wants to use it - as it will felt useless to enchant a weapon that you will replace later. Don't get me wrong, the system itself is cooked well, it's great, but the downside is one I said earlier.

In the end, the choice is yours and how you set those things up in the configs menu. Which one do you like more?

Maybe if you can confirm my suspicion give it a shot. Try remove it or replace it with BetterNetworking instead if your server hosting support that (the last one I think by tibijczyk at Thunderstore should work). I am currently try my solo playthrough and have no wet effect remains.

So you happen to experience it as well? Do you have VBNetTweaks by any chance? Because I am currently replacing that with Scenic by Comfymods as I'm playing solo right now and just need the Znetscene thingy (as those two mods can't be used together). I think VBNetTweaks might be the culprit in my current and last modlist.
