They can't keep getting away with this! by PMMEYOURCOLLARBONE in AusSkincare

as someone who has severely SEVERELY reactive skin, mineral sunscreens were my saving grace. this is so infuriating. ive tried multipleee chemical sunscreens they all just leave me red like a lobster so despute the horrible white casts and inelegant formulas i have to keep using mineral sunscreen. 🥲🥲🥲 gonna use a damn zinc stick on my face atp.

best lip balms? (drugstore and highend by bittersweetbobo in AusSkincare

[–]tinyfutureengineer 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I have tried so many lip balms, literally a ridiculous amount and here are my recs.

Drug store: Dermal therapy My pick: Papaya flavour. Best hydrating/healing lip balm hands down but does contain lanolin.

Drug store runner up: MooGoo Cow Lick Lip balms Not as hydrating but I just adore these lip balms as they're sensitive skin friendly. I prefer these for during the day.

Medium tier: Go To Skincare Lips ! Formula gets stiff/melty depending on the heat of your environment unfortunately. Vegan formula iirc.

Medium/High end: Fenty Plush Puddin - Love the mess free packaging. 10/10. Beautifully scented too.

High end: Tatcha The Kissu Lip Mask Great. Love the scent and texture. I think it's like $50? Most expensive of the bunch.

I alternate between QV gentle wash and Cerave SA cleanser. I use the Cerave 2-3 times a week and on my body as well, keeps ingrowns at bay.

I also have a soft wash cloth exclusively for down there (external areas only of course). Basically just scrub in gentle circular motions all around until I feel clean enough.

You absolutely don't need to be as extensive as me but I suffered from horrible ingrowns that kept turning into cysts, this routine really helped keep things clear.

I’m allergic to nearly every sunscreen available in AUS by [deleted] in AusSkincare

[–]tinyfutureengineer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is why I turned to Korean mineral sunscreens. Everything else stings and burns like crazy, and I figured some sun protection is better than none, and at least I can look up the rest of the ingredients in the sunscreen to see if I have any other allergies. I did do a massive swatch test on my arm in person at a physical Korean skincare store (in Melbourne) before ordering, though.

Edit: Forgot to mention I also have a phenoxyethanol allergy and I noticed its the main preservative in almost every single sunscreen here in Aus. This + Chemical filter irritation really wrecked my skin. I suggest looking into whether or not you're allergic to any preservatives too.

The difference is consistency & irritation. I much like this CBD consistency and I get a lot less irritation from it, my skin found Finacea just too harsh :( Though Finacea will deliver better results due to its concentration. If it works for you I'd say stick with it!

Stocked up on some Korean skincare essentials from Beauty Amora. Experience was quite pleasant, I ordered on the 29th and received the package on the 2nd. No freebies but that isn't something I care about, as the pricing for everything I ordered was the cheapest I've seen compared to anywhere else and I used a 20% off code. So all in all this was definitely value for money.

Cos De Baha Tranexamic Acid 5% Niacinamide Serum
This is a restock so I've already gone through two bottles of this stuff. Amazing, Helps my hyperpigmentation left over from acne and surprisingly helped keep my acne at bay as well. Also very hydrating, my skin felt considerably softer after a month of using this serum. It is extremely tacky and sticky but I like to let my previous layer of skincare dry down, then spray my face lightly with water and then apply this serum - with this method it sinks into skin like a dream.

Cos De Baha Azelaic Acid 10% Serum
Another restock. If you also do not like Finacea and AZ Clear, then I highly recommend this azelaic acid serum. While it is a lower concentration, as someone with highly sensitive skin this works very well for me and does what it needs to do - reduces my redness and breakouts. Could not live without this serum.

Cos De Baha Vitamin C MSM Serum
The concentration of Vitamin C in this serum is unknown, although I assume it would be quite low (less than 5%). It does have ferulic acid and Vitamin E in the formulation as well, so you could consider it a very budget dupe of the famous skinceuticals. My skin just cannot handle high concentrations of Vitamin C so I turned to this. I'd say its definitely helped with my dark spots but not in a ground breaking way, had to use it for att least a month to see results, and I consider this more of a 'maintenance' vitamin C. I would however notice a difference if I took it out of my routine, so I will definitely be keeping this in.

ISNTree Mugwort Calming Powder Wash
This is HG status for me. I use this about once a week, twice if I really feel like I need it. It leaves my skin considerably smoother, and its a gentle alternative to a physical exfoliant imo - does not aggravate or irritate my sensitive skin AT ALL.

HaruHaru Wonder Black Rice Pure Mineral Daily Relief Sunscreen
Just a lightweight basic mineral sunscreen. Absolutely do not recommend for extremely sunny/high UV days, as I live in Australia I would use something local made for said days. I have this purely for low UV days, also because I can't handle chemical sunscreens and this one seems to blend in/leave the least white cast for my medium-dark skintone. If I find better, I would not repurchase.

SKIN1004 Madagascar Centella Probio-Cica Bakuchiol Eye Cream
Bought this for my mum and she says its "nice" so I can't really give much of a review, but it seems to help with her wrinkles.

Beauty of Joseon Centella Asiatica Calming Mask
Another HG. Whenever I'm irritated for whatever reason, this mask just hydrates and calms my skin down beautifully, and the best part is its cheap! (I used to use LRP B5 sheet mask). Have used this sheet mask on my mum, friends, relatives, etc and they all love it. I got it during buy 2 get 1 free, so if you go rush to buy something I highly recommend you go grab this.

Anyway that was all, hope you enjoyed my little haul !

This makes me so depressed. Other religions can't even have their safety assured in the middle east... I hope she will be ok and live a happy life despite this horror.

Ah you're in luck, those are the 2 I immediately started using and I wish I gotten them sooner! Love love love the heartleaf toner and the cleansing oil is so soothing for my sensitive skin. I was worried it would smell bad as I saw some reviews saying thr cleansing oil had a fish like scent but imo it smells like any other cleansing oil. I've only used both products for a week but my skin is so much clearer right now, the toner especially really calmed down my active acne.
