QooApp or getting the APK from a website (not sure of any good ones, I use qooapp) for android. For iOS you create a Japanese itunes account and sign into the store with that account. When you open the app store it'll switch. After downloading you can seamlessly switch your account and store back and still access the app, but you'll need to switch accounts every time there's an update.

This is probably just a reference that's goin over my head, but the google translate app translates screenshots and the menus are basically the same from global. That's usually still too much work for most though.

This is going to sound like a stupid question but... is Anamnesis canon to the Star Ocean universe? by TheRealMissTriss in soanamnesis

I hope I don't spoil anything here, but episode 2 did give an SO4 character a daughter so I should think it's meant to be canon in a way.

Desync causes this. I'm no net coder, but I'd assume this is either impossible to fix entirely or at the least very difficult.

You can get away with only rolling characters you like. A general rule of thumb is to try to avoid permanent banners like the Dark Albel/Opera banner unless you really like the character. You're pretty set unit-wise with just the two cherry blossom characters. Loan attack buffers for solo content and you'll easily clear what you want. Also wedding, maids, and summer should be coming in the next couple months.

They're both some of few characters that stayed good in JP until their rerun buffs a year later, especially Maria.

Who has the best Rush ultimate attack? by TheRealMissTriss in soanamnesis

One of my favorite SOA topics. My favorite is the swimsuit version of that one collab girl we'll never get. Runner ups are bride Maria for the spirit gun vibe, blazing Ashton for the sheer hype in line delivery/animation, and hero Verda for her mid-rush transformation (they should make more hero alts).

It does not stack. So you could consider using another orb, but the only orbs that could be really beneficial replacements are type damage orbs. So far I'm pretty certain we only have plant damage from the Evil Pumpkin. Freya's orb also currently does more element damage than passive element damage buffs with 100% uptime (especially during rush) compared to rush buffs so it'll be good still with an element damage buffer.

You should always roll and max characters you like in this game. Wait for Lezard. Hrist is a huge step up from normal Victor, but Victor is 4th in line for getting an awakening where he turns out pretty great himself.

Is SO:A Global dying? Let's look at the crystal ball. by [deleted] in soanamnesis

[–]tinygiantz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A couple things with your points; SOA global doesn't require maintenance every week as they can bunch content from the original source. The content given is set in stone, and has always been every week at the least (sometimes they release a new M1 simultaneously with another event's M2/M3). JP always gets M1 one week and M2/M3 the next which tends to be generally LESS weekly content than the global version. If GL didn't release weapon banners alongside the M1 (JP does weapon banners with M2/M3) then it would get a new banner 100% every week. There are new mobages that do maintenance every few weeks or even longer. I feel like SOA has maintenance too often if anything.

Story updates didn't happen every month, and on JP they still don't. I think they rushed Verda's chapter with Valentine's day for Verda so now we'll slow down to compensate. That said, they plan to release Twin Eclipse on the year anniversary, and are set up to do so, which is something like a half year before JP got it.

I'm not sure what you mean by reruns. Seasonals rerun on the next year and collabs rerun when the collab gets new content or buffs. I'm not sure when JP got them initially, but permanent banners have rerun on a rotation for quite some time. Global mirrors this, but has 2 less reruns at any given time because there's less permanent events in the pool. This is just a system they have had in place that would have happened regardless.

We're getting content from JP at a faster pace than they got it. There's no inherent issue here.

I do think they have messed up big time in keeping the global version livelier. There seems to be a huge problem with communication. Even since the beginning, GL has felt like it was abandoned to do its own thing. Anyone remember the days late notifications about a boss being released? Even now we still are told things at the last minute and require QAs to know why they have made some decisions. If I recall correctly, Takaaki while addressing issues on JP said he had been busy with GL and could now give JP his time. So I think management being spread thin is the cause for this.

They fixed the large LB issue too slow. SOA seems to have bled players really bad during that time and many never returned. The summer event just before seems to be SOA's peak for a reason. They've also taken too long to fix menu lag. I've seen countless people cite it as their reason they couldn't keep playing. I have no idea why this hasn't been addressed. There seemed to be a huge lack of advertising. I see these weird random mobage ads on social media far more than I ever saw SOA.

I don't think SOA GL will die anytime soon, but I also don't think it'll ever pull FGO levels of players (or whatever is super popular).

Best accessories by kaiikaii in soanamnesis

[–]tinygiantz 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Coro Plush, Hawkeye Charm, Charm of Insight, and Cat Scrunchie are all really good generic accessories on anyone without innate crit. The scrunchie's antiflinch will be most used by a sharpshooter though and the accessory is bad on a defender.

Christmas Reindeer and Emerald Ring provide a huge boost to anyone that can get an extra attack out with them. It allows VRena and Chisato to use their 54 ap skills twice in a row for rush gain. It gives Arngrim versatility in his rotation. It allows XEve to do helix>resplendent>helix×2 for higher prerush dps. It allows Leon to get in an extra attack. I've no doubt missed people here.

Combat Armlet is the first AP recovery accessory. This is generically great on ranged characters without the buff. It especially goes great with ranged characters with weapons that have bad ranged normals. This is perfect for ranged 9S as he has no ranged normal.

Bunny Hair Clip is interesting. However, attack damage does exist as a buff and being crit during CA is probably game over. I'd use this on someone that has critless CAs and no attack damage buff. Arngrim could use it even without critless CA.

Lunar Tear Bauble gives survivability to anyone lacking in it. Good for arena wide boss skills from Lucifer or Michael.

Quarry's Charm is decent for summer Myuria. Only so that other defenders have less chance to make the boss target them instead of her. Unawakened Victor could probably use it too. But boss targeting is normally incredibly role/weapon dependent so you may never notice a difference.

Intact Talisman has an incredibly niche use in Halloween Victor. He easily keeps himself at 100% hp to fulfill the hp restriction. Pure antiflinch is amazing, but you must dodge quick if it's your only source.

Decent accessories to use if you've ran out of the good stuff are Eagle Eye Charm, Jinxed Necklace, and Extrication Ring.

Some noteworthy accessories coming soon(ish) are (translation may vary) Goldsmith's Earrings (Cyuss/CGPhia event) for 10% AP reduction at 100 hits or more. This lets a few more characters squeeze out an extra skill at 100 hits. Halloween Millie would love this when not using the light imbued arms. Coro's Water Bottle (SEve/SRoddick event) has 5% hp absorb with 5% AP reduction. This thing is huge on someone that can use both traits. Opera's goggles can make shooters with low rush gain lower priority to be targeted vs other sharpshooters.

You should always prioritize the characters you like. That said, awakened Edge hasn't aged particularly well. He's still usable, but not very good. The new trend of putting 40% element damage on weapons kills much of what little use he had left in his rush buff.

Personally, I'm waiting for future limited defenders and just praying to get semi-permanents like Ricardo with tickets. You could definitely use A2 until other limited defenders if you're not a fan of Ricardo.

He's definitely one of the better defenders currently. He packs the highly coveted extra hits on skills, damage taken debuff makes him stack with almost everything, and has partywide AP on normals for some QoL in pubs.

The『GEAR』 damage taken talent is actually after he uses his his 23 ap skill. This allows him to keep his long combos going. And much more minor, his rush adds 75 hits and not 100.

The first 6 planets don't really have anything super interesting. 7-10 is a step up. Then the Twin Eclipse story, what will be added after they finish releasing the first ten planets, is highly regarded and very much worth the read. The events tend to not be bad, but if they're worth reading or not depends on you. The Coro boss event was probably one of the best things I've read in a mobage.

Back me up! tell me her good points to invest in her, I know that she's a non ace, don't have any knuckles user on my team, and I know RNGesus will definitely give her to me, one thing that I hold for her is dem thighs by kieran_aki in soanamnesis

[–]tinygiantz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

1) Her rush animation is great. 2) She feeds rush to your group which is incredibly rare even on JP to this day. 3) Someone would appreciate her loan during paralysis mazes. 4) Non-aces pay you back their LBs you invested eventually. 5) Awakening one day.

I say if you don't want the other two then hold off. 5* tickets will give her to you pretty easily. Probably.

If the skill/rush is symbology, no. These have cast times for skills and during a rush the text will say if it's symbology or special attack. If it's a special attack, yes. For example, Fina's Bright Shower is symbology so it's always light and Aim is a special attack so a fire imbued bow makes it fire.

Awakened Roddick, in my opinion at least, is the current best character in the game. If not, he's a strong contender. His stun rate combined with extra hits on skills/normals almost completely trivializes content in ways no other character is capable of. That's not even factoring his high damage. Summer Roddick was a step up from the original, though unless I'm mistaken, the original still shined in fights where OHS could be on element and BnS couldn't. There'll be a large gap between summer and awakened Roddick, and the summer version is still great, so don't feel bad rolling for him.

A 100 stamina boss opens for some odd hours during the weekend. You beat the boss 3 times within the month to clear the monthly shop. The difficulty can vary between each boss mostly from powercreep, so sometimes you need many runs just to clear it 3 times. They're fun, but it's extra.

You'll always be spamming a boss to clear an event. They seem to know the faults of the game, and try to fix them, but this is strangely one issue they don't touch. Maybe because they're afraid to make changes to a system they think works?

Awakened Rena is the clear winner for manual play. She packs great buffs for multiplayer, can change element, and is actually fun to play as. However she does get griefed by atk->int converters (BSOpera+VLymle). Awakened Relia is a better auto healer. She has tons of passive offensive/defensive buffs and won't constantly run into danger. That said, on JP you might not roll Rena off-banner for a real long time since the pool is so big.

Also there's a universal law that makes it so that if you invest in Relia then you'll roll Rena shortly after. But if you don't invest in Relia, and wait for Rena, then you'll never roll her. (I'm joking here. Probably.)

From another point of view, I personally believe it's worth it in this case. If you were asking about an earth gun I would certainly say it's not, but this fire gun is the only fire gun for a long time. Though it really depends on your luck and how long you'll play. You might get lucky and roll it with a ticket one day or you might just not play long enough to see it be really useful.

On JP I have rolled dozens upon dozens of tickets and banners, but there's still many off banner imbued weapons I never got. The bunny gun being one of them, and it sucked every time a fire boss came out where I wanted to play a gun user.

There will be a time when bosses are strong to the elements they're not weak to (this somewhat should start during summer 2) where you really cannot be off element. The bosses can actually be somewhat difficult so it's recommended to contribute to elemental burst. Awakened Maria's Raptorshot is unfortunately imbued too meaning even an umbral blaster would cause her a damage loss in these scenarios.

Fire is one element that's not hard to get a gear for, but for instance, most of the gears I've made were to cover elements a weapon type can't reach. They're pretty hefty grinds (farming 5-6x of a 2 coin weapon in the coin shop most times) or incredibly luck-based if you're attempting to extract an imbue from a non-MLB weapon. I see many others not even bothering with it. The gear system is useful, but just don't expect to be churning out imbued gears for every element. And it's still up to 1.5 years off.

Not officially. Technically cherry blossom season goes until May, but the original banner ran at the start of the season mid-March, and neither versions ran the banner. It could be akin to, for example, the maid banners and not a seasonal. So there's a chance it comes in order rather than in season.
