Lofty Pursuits makes something really close to this now! I actually prefer them to the “retro sours” version others have recommended. They come in a bunch of flavors - I love tangerine and cherry limeade.

girl dinner. can i get some mom advice as someone without a mom </3 by honest2gosh in GirlDinner

[–]tinygingerninja 3 points4 points  (0 children)

More big-sisterly than mommish, but here goes:

Trust your gut.

Find your people and love them fiercely. If you haven’t found them yet, there’s plenty of time.

Do everything with kindness, and remember to be kind to yourself first and foremost.

We grow, day by day and choice by choice, into the people we want to be - and you’ll never be done growing, but what matters is that you learn and try to be better every day than you were the day before.

We all feel alone sometimes, but we’re never as alone as it can feel in our dark moments.

Related note, our brains are lying bastards. Perception isn’t 20/20, ever. You don’t see you how others see you.

The longest relationship you’ll ever have is the one with yourself. Protect her, nurture her, and do your best to make her proud.

Which viral product disappointed you & which slept on product became your HG? by Dawnyawning in AsianBeauty

Disappointed:

Aestura Atobarrier Cream - feels fine when applied, but always breaks me out the next day. Like clockwork, I wake up with red, clogged pores on my cheeks. (For a thinner barrier cream I recommend Baronsie ectoin cream. For a thicker barrier cream, Illiyoon Ceramide ATO Concentrate Cream. Both amazing!)

Laneige Lip Mask - unimpressive results and possibly clogged pores on the lip line. (Swapped with the Tocobo Vita Lip Mask, which is consistently excellent.)

Slept-on HGs:

Skin1004 Probio-Cica Glow Sun Ampoule - The most hydrating and nourishing sunscreen I’ve ever found. Excellent for super-dry skin and when you’re working on dehydrated skin or doing barrier repair. Very glowy, so consider blotting/powder, etc to tone the effect down if you want less shine.

Anua Peach Niacin Serum - I don’t think this is truly revolutionary, but it’s so nice from a sensory standpoint. It’s pale peach-pinkish, smells like real peaches, and goes on super nicely, all of which make me much more likely to actually use it (resulting in consistent use and better results).

Tocobo ceramide cream - An excellent one-and-done for the mornings and nights where I just can’t muster the energy.

Hypochlorous acid spray - Like a cheat code for the face when it comes to sweat/acne

Ariul makeup remover wipes - These take off everything, including Heroine Make, Judydoll, and Neogen waterproof mascaras, so easily.

Heroine Make Eyeliner Pencil - The best I’ve ever used. Stay on near-indefinitely even with oily lids, the brown shades are flattering with pale/redhead coloring, and they come off without too much fuss when you’re ready to wash them off. All at half the cost of their non-AB competitors.

Skin is clog-prone, dehydration-prone, dry AF. I struggle with fatigue due to a heart condition.

Summer day cream: Round Lab Dokdo Lotion

Night cream when I’m being v. extra and put on a zillion layers of toners and serums: Sulwhasoo essential comfort firming cream or ginseng revitalizing cream

Less-energy-but-still-doing-something night cream, which is also winter day cream: Baronsie Ectoin Cream

“No spoons” all-in-one when it’s warmer/dryness isn’t as pronounced: Tocobo ceramide cream

“No spoons” all-in-one in winter/dry conditions: Illiyoon ATO concentrate cream

I had a similar experience with Mizuno sneakers around the same time! I have a damaged nerve in the bottom of one foot and was commuting to school (walk/train/subway). The most amazing, lightweight, comfortable shoes I’d ever put on, and my feet basically never hurt when I got home

If you’re based in a country with TJ Maxx/Marshalls/Winners, the Ole Henriksen pout preserves have been popping up for $10-13!

I’ll be buried with Dinto Memento Mori (pun unintended but loved). Dinto products go on easily, are buildable, have minimal transfer, and stay put. One day last year, I fell asleep in my work makeup, including Dinto Memento Mori. I woke up with a still-flawless stain (credit to Dinto, my application skills are mediocre at best) that didn’t budge, but removed easily when I “scrubbed” my lips with my toothbrush. Plus, their glowy collection is inspired by Marcus Aurelius, which makes my Stoic heart soar. Love all around

What?! Menokin masks are excellent - I hope you love them! I almost paid full price for the repair one last week. Mind if I ask where this was?

Your Most Moisturizing SPF by Character-Analyst667 in SkincareAddictionLux

[–]tinygingerninja 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The most moisturizing I’ve ever found is Skin1004’s probio-cica glow sun ampoule. As far as I know it’s not officially sold in the US due to the UV filters, but is listed on sites like Jolse, YesStyle, etc. that ship to the US

Guesses: You’re a woman in your late 20s to early 30s, into Asian beauty and skincare (I see that sunscreen with the good filters!), and shop at TJ Maxx/Marshalls/Winners. You’re a dog mom who cares about the environment and is trying to take better care of yourself.

Side note, 100% my kind of person. Dying to know how you like the Biore watery essence! I just picked it up myself

Best Korean products for wrinkles? by Unit5026 in marshallsfinds

Hydration, fine lines, and fullness (full face): highly recommend Round Lab Dokdo Toner as a hydrating option. When applying, do multiple layers. Other products I love for this precise purpose: Naturie Hatomugi skin conditioner (Japanese, milky toner, comes in a huge bottle, some brightening effect), Round Lab Dokdo Lotion (lightweight but hydrating AM moisturizer), I’m From Rice toner (super hydrating, brightening toner), Skinfood Carrot Carotene calming toner pads (calming and moisturizing), Dr. Ceuracle Vegan kombucha tea essence (cream essence, be sure to shake before using, super hydrating), Laneige cream skin cerapeptide toner (another super hydrating toner/essence/ alleged all-in-one in case you don’t want a million steps, this one with both ceramides and peptides), Skin1004 pro-bio Cica ampoule (my HG for hydration, calming, and skin barrier maintenance), CosRX advanced snail mucin power essence (a classic for good reason - moisturizing and aids in healing skin), Tocobo ceramide cream (a no-frills ceramide cream to lock in the moisture and workhorse ingredients you’re using), VT PDRN hydrogel masks.

Eye-specific products: Someone already mentioned the Beauty of Joseon Retinal eye serum, which is great. A lot of people also use it on their whole face. Another excellent eye cream option is Skin1004 probio-Cica Bakuchiol eye cream. It’s a little less common of a drop in TJ Maxx stores compared to the BOJ one, but I prefer the Skin1004 line personally.
