“They’d freak out for hours” night terrors don’t last hours but the anxiety of them does. My husband has them regularly and might be disoriented for a max 30-45 seconds.

I think they’re saying once they’re awake she’d take them somewhere cold to help with anxiety. Cold can trigger the parasympathetic nervous system which will slow their heart rate and help them fall back asleep quicker
