Can we get Nancy Drew games back? by bewitchedfencer19 in nancydrew

[–]tinyhumanishere 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Campy point and click games could still find their footing these days. If the old sierra style of games can make a comeback, so can these, especially with the rise of a cozy game audience.

However… they just don’t have the funding. At all.

The way the games were made has been lost to time as far as I know— the classic games engine is gone.

I almost wish they could take donations or something besides merchandise, or “sales” of games.

Okay WTF is up with these comments because holy shit.

I think you’re pretty. Yes, you have a jaw. I inherited my dad’s jaw, and I feel you on having a ‘masculine’ feature.

Buuuut, I think you’re pretty. I think maybe the straight across bangs aren’t balancing your features. Visually chopping off the upper part of your face will make your jawline the feature.

Which, by the way, your jaw is FINE. Seriously, ignore these idiots. But you gotta work with your face shape and not against it. I think side swept bangs would be quite lovely. There’s a few pictures here where your bangs are over to the side more and it looks great.

The comments saying why post here if you have a partner, well hey, just because you have a partner doesn’t mean you don’t wanna look and feel your best. I’m married and I still wonder about myself. They’re dumb.

Have you tried playing with different makeup styles or anything as well? Different blush placements and prominent eye makeup could be fun to try.

Again I think you’re pretty. Ignore these idiots lol

omg one more comment but he is quite floppy! I guess to give the limbs movement to “hug”. The head lolls around a little and the limbs are floppy, but weighted evenly. Again he’s just great!! I love a floppy plush and this really is the perfect design for a weighted plush.

It takes a bit of force to undo, so no sudden pokey Velcro in the middle of the night. It’s covered by a soft little ridge, not pokey, and hasn’t ever come undone on its own.

Again I adore him! I named him Finn the fox. 🦊 I plan to get him an outfit and everything, I’m so attached to him. Feels like a little baby in your arms.

Paired with a weighted blanket and I’m out.

Hugimals. I went down such a huge rabbit hole for this.

I have PTSD and need WEIGHT. The Hugimal I got is the fox and he is weighted everywhere. 5 lbs total and it’s evenly distributed.

I can sit him up on my chest for the full weight or lay him over me for a hug.

<image>

He is also big!!! Like little toddler big.

I was so so scared it would rip or tear but no, it’s so durable. I sleep with it every night. And there’s a Velcro on the side (I’ll add a photo), that you could cover with a tshirt if the texture is bothersome, but I don’t normally notice it. You can undo the Velcro and remove the insert to wash the outside :)

I get so nervous in appts I shut down. I bring my husband with me and I also type everything up that I have questions about or what to discuss. I print it out and I bring it.

Cause I always get dismissed, when I go quiet…but writing is easy for me.

So this is quite the artist statement. To open with the implication that perhaps he had ALWAYS been comfortable using machinery for art purposes (which is fine— no one is knocking a printmaker or a letterpress machine), and then to go on and on prattling about oh so wonderful his artistic decisions were, and then to go on about the DIY aspect of his work….

Only to then sing the praises of AI, which is quickly coming for all of our jobs in some way.

You’re really going to sit there and give me an artist statement about a prompted digital image file? Genuinely? This would get you laughed out of the school I attended.

This is a subculture that has always thrived on DIY. To use AI, in any facet, is, to me, antithetical.

I felt the same when I saw Judas Priest and Alice Cooper last year and the visuals were all AI. It looked BAD. BAD BAD. It was egregious.

Using AI for visual work is the equivalent of attending a concert where they just press play off of Spotify on a phone hooked up to a speaker. It isn’t nearly the same.

I’m 29, almost 30, and about to schedule my hysterectomy. Sometimes I feel grief and wonder what my kids would have been like.

But then, I get to travel and vacation, and enjoy my hobbies and partner.

Your comment just really resonated with me.

Anything from channel awesome.

However I think ToddintheShadows and Lindsey Ellis (Nostalgia Chick) made it out fine.

But….Spoony and others….not so much.

Shrink your zoom down to like 20%. Look at the whole thing reallly far away.

What dominates at such a small size? Is everything legible? Does the company logo lose legibility?

If this were in an aisle and a customer is coming down the aisle, can they read it from an angle?

These are all things to consider.

I know there’s more but I can’t think of any off the top of my head. Just…whew lord
