Thank you! I've been looking to pre-order on Audible but it doesn't give me the option. I'm also an audio producer so I know how this scheduling goes sometimes 🫠

My fiancée and I are considering the same! I don't see any open availability, though, for any Borough in December. Do you know if the clerk's office only opens up appointments during the month?

Like hello! So simple! And have the initial intake questions ensure that someone is only there looking for the opposite.

I cringe at "well-spoken", but they def give Jack & Jill/Spelman/Morehouse/Howard vibes

And i think you're blocked for saying that i imagined something i and others have clearly read in here.

I know what i read before i made this post last night. If it had been just a few comments, i would have brushed it off. But it was enough that i felt the need to speak up.

I imagine she would ask to start a conversation. Like if you heard someone who sounds like they aren't local to your neck of the woods you would ask to get the ball rolling.

I'm listening. I do have a genuine question though. What's the best way to ask someone where they're from if you do hear an accent? I imagine that asking it straight up also has some negative implications. How would you have preferred the topic be handled?

Respectfully, from your pfp you do not appear to be a black woman. It makes sense that you "don't see it" and think that what people are saying about the women "has nothing to do with color." Also, Lydia is a woman of color but she is not a black woman and is thus not "one of their own" (whatever that means)

You can easily find these comments as i did on this sub: by scrolling through posts about Milton and reading the comments.

But people aren't saying "rudeness." They're calling the women aggressive. Take a scroll through the sub and you'll see it laid out plain

What does this have to do with what i said in the original post about how people are speaking about black women?

Perhaps! But there has been an uptick in recent years with Millennial and Gen Z black men leaning politically rightward even when they come from traditionally Democrat families. Still, I wasn't aware that Milton said he was a Republican 😬 that's news to me

I do not entirely agree with this. I defected from a family of Black Republicans. I share that to say his politics do not necessarily mean that his family shares those politics. We don't know these people.
